I actually find this slightly troubling.
I just read the following description via http://www.ogilvynoor.com/WhoWeA….
"Shazia Khan, Associate Planning Director,
Ogilvy & Mather Pakistan
Based in Karachi, Shazia has been associated with Ogilvy for seven years now. She has worked on a vast portfolio of clients across categories, bringing local insights to life. Shazia is passionate about the youth of her country and has done a number of studies to help brands understand and connect with this dynamic segment. As a member of Ogilvy Noor she hopes to honestly represent the young Muslim consumer, bringing him to the forefront."That's all fine and dandy I suppose - but that last sentence, "bringing him to the forefront"; what does this suggest?
Are women not going to be allowed to become consumers in this brave new world of Muslim consumerism, of which Ogilvy hopes to become chief architect? Will they aim to pander to a male oriented view of the world, simply to allow their message to be more readily accepted in Muslim countries? Are they willing to neglect all that's gone on in the west over the past 50 years, simply to ensure they can make money?
It seems wrong to me - and possibly suggests that it's the work of a group of slimy, opportunists.

Don't see why muslims need special treatment, picky bunch.
