What about the Island beaches? Was looking at Hvar or Bol for a day or two.

Just to let you know, there isn't a single sandy beach in the whole of Croatia, it's all rocky - so it's pretty painful when you go for a dip in the sea. Apart from that it's a great country. Good food too.

I'm off to Split in Sept, so I'm gonna keep an eye on this. I've heard that there are lots of National Parks that are really beautiful.
This one about an hour from Split.

trogir (up the coast a little) is very nice - maybe a little touristy / expensive but still lots of character
- On the list - looks good. Too small for nightlife?Fax_Benson

But I'm going to be in and around Split and perhaps one of the islands. Any advice other than go to Dubrovnik? Cheers.

Oh man, don't just limit your visit to Split. Visit the Roman ruins in Pula, and see Dubrovnik, too.

Anybody have any advice for eating, drinking, late night venues in Split and just north thereof - and maybe the islands? Favourite restaurants?
There are a few previous threads but they're a few years old now. Any locals have music/events/cultural links for up to date listings?
Thanks in advance.
