Oh man, don't just limit your visit to Split. Visit the Roman ruins in Pula, and see Dubrovnik, too.

But I'm going to be in and around Split and perhaps one of the islands. Any advice other than go to Dubrovnik? Cheers.

trogir (up the coast a little) is very nice - maybe a little touristy / expensive but still lots of character
- On the list - looks good. Too small for nightlife?Fax_Benson

I'm off to Split in Sept, so I'm gonna keep an eye on this. I've heard that there are lots of National Parks that are really beautiful.
This one about an hour from Split.

Just to let you know, there isn't a single sandy beach in the whole of Croatia, it's all rocky - so it's pretty painful when you go for a dip in the sea. Apart from that it's a great country. Good food too.

What about the Island beaches? Was looking at Hvar or Bol for a day or two.
- A friend went to Brac, said it was really nice..rascuache
