HOLLY SHIT.
My ex cheating on me with a guy with a status of "sex offender", the child involved was 14. The story above hit right at HOME for me!
Grrr....
I too have two girls which I LOVE TO DEATH. Your friend girls will be okay with dads love :)- Is she still seeing this guy? You should get a restraining order to keep him away from your kids.nb
- She is not, I have tabs on him since I talk to HIS WIFE ;)TheeOtherJuan
- we will all be better of if we stop generalizing... drug dealer is NOT equal to child sex offender.pr2

Just got a call from a mate who I haven't seen for about 6 months - his fiancé 'sat him down' last Christmas to tell him she had been sleeping with not one, but two other guys and that she was pregnant - and had no idea who the father was. FFS.
He has 2 little girls that absolutely adore him. He is a great bloke who dotes on his kids and would never dream of cheating on his woman. He had to tell his kids he was moving out but because they are so young (8 and 5) couldn't really explain why he was leaving.
He ended up with 50/50 custody after the woman had an abortion. She then decided to shack up with a third bloke and is now 9 weeks pregnant!
My friend is absolutely beside himself having to leave his kids in that environment half the time - the new bloke is an ex con having spent 7 years in jail for drug dealing and armed robbery. Must be excruciating.
I just can't figure out why this fucken pitiful excuse for a mother has been given any rights to see her children after all this. If it was him who slept around and started rooting an ex-con drug dealer, there's no way he have any visitation rights.

It's true... sometimes the courts see through people's stories, sometimes they don't....
I had 3 judges for my divorce, 2 of them saw through my ex's histronic odd nuclear war emotional freakout tactics, one fell for them, but even then they said the law says what it says no matter what you feel.....
it's interesting how one's faith in the courts sometimes is actually right....

@canhasQBN, one of the better examples of why marriage is important. My mom and dad were never married until 2 years before he died of cancer. Because he was my step father, I wouldn't have had access to him at the hospital. My mom wouldn't have been granted his social security benefits (important, because the cancer emptied their retirement and savings) and his children would have control over final decisions, his body and burial. He did not want any of that. His children would also have more of a case in probate court. He also did not want that.
There are benefits married people have that regular joes on the street do not have in relation to another person and their affairs especially when children are involved. It's not all bad. But, it obviously doesn't always work out either.
@TheeOtherJuan
My biological father is a douche and a coward for running back to his family on the east coast after my parent's divorce and not being there by my side growing up. I'm sure it would have been harder for him, but even as a 7-8 year old I knew that was a lame excuse and he's stuck by that ever since (it's still lame). I saw him a few summers directly after the divorce, but our relationship was fractured by then. I later chose camp, friends, and activities over traveling far to see a guy I wasn't close to for the summer and my step dad took over. Although my step dad was thefuckingbomb.com i don't know why any man would let another man raise their children and not actively get their two cents in. Whatever you do, stay within a short drive of your children. They will thank you later.

true, legalities and money have nothing to do with true love. but figuring out the shared costs of raising kids post-love has everything do with legalities and money.
- CanHasQBN0
This is why I don't believe in marriage. What do legalities and money have to do with true love? If you love someone, be with them, live together, have kids. Why do you need to sign a bunch of papers and legally join all of your monetary assets? Is it to save on taxes? Or trying to please your parents? Impress your friends? To fit in as best you can into societies' expectations of what is "normal"? Maybe I'm ignorant, as I've never been married, but it seems silly, institutional, and pretty archaic to me.
Also happy birthday.
- do you live in Canada?vaxorcist
- AMERICA! FUCK YEEEAHHH!CanHasQBN
- Agreed %1000. I'll never get married. Shit is stupidsection_014
- I am in agreement. The institution of marriage doesn't have the same meaning as it did in Jesus dayssherm
- it's only petty, institutional, and archaic if you want it to be.doesnotexist
