Why isn't any christen group standing up and opposing this view? Why is the church silent in this matter? why not have a anti protest and print a Quran for every one that is burned. mind you nothing good comes from books being burned.
It would seem important to not give anymore attention to this idiot but also to make mention that he does not speak for Christens and the views of Christens.
i believe that using the church (http://www.doveworld.org) as a vehicle is more of a strategic move for asylum from big government. that doesn't mean the church cant do anything.

So he's doing this book burning to highlight the fact that Islam is intolerant of other religions ?
Religious people never have any sense of irony, do they ?
If they did then they'd see their arbitrary fairytale was as unlikely as any other and come to their senses. To understand irony is the be able to hold 2 ideas in mind at once, if you are religious, you are deluded - you cannot hold the ideas of your religion and think critically at the same time - you have 2 distinct modes of operation, truth and Truth, and you can never combine the 2, you can never break the compartmentalization that protects your religious 'belief' from your rational mind, no matter whatever ever sophistry you undertake where you try to look like a rational person, a 'christian scientist' or set up a false dichotomy whereby you fill in gaps in your rational understanding of the world with your religion. Humour, irony, parody, mockery - all these are far more powerful tools at destroying the veil of religious thought than any other religion, hence the terribly furor over the Danish cartoons. Burning a religious book will have precisely no effect other than making people who already hate you shout it even louder and make you look like a petulant child.

Don't wrap this up as a "Christian" thing. Almost all of this guy's church has left him as a result. He's as intolerant and insensitive as all other fringe extremists. And as for Christians speaking out against it, do a google search. Here, I've done it for you.

I think this is a good thing, actually. It opens up discussion - albeit in the worst possible way. Muslims have been painted with the same brush because of the acts of some crazy ass and cowardly people on 9/11.
This has the potential to be a humbling experience for Christians of all kinds.
That being said, there's an opportunity for Muslims here to have a level head and be smart about the the way they represent themselves with regards to how it all goes down. "Death to America" and "Death to Obama" won't help their cause. That puts them straight back into the stone age along with those Dove people.
The media also have a responsibility to report in a not-so-inflammatory way - and in a way that doesn't sensationalize things.
Though, responsible things aren't really the order of the day here, it seems.
