Jordans average stats through his career
Rebounds: 6.2 Assists: 5.3 Steals: 2.35 Blocks: 0.80 Turnovers: 2.73 Points: 30.1James' stats until now
Rebounds: 7.0 Assist: 6.6 Steals: 1.6 Blocks: 0.80 Turnovers: 3.3 Points: 31.4Jordan only has slightly more steals and slightly less turnovers, James has him in all other categories, not to mention the fact that the rules in the nba are different now, they are much more strict for defenders.

The argument about LeBron becoming better than Jordan died when he put a Heat jersey on. Jordan got his titles without two other all stars that could step up if he was off.
And Im not shitting on Pippen cause he's still one of the all time greats, but the fact is Pipp never got a title without M.J.
Wade is a champion already, and as much as people want to shit on Bosh, he's still an all star calibre player that's capable of putting up 30 and 10 in a game. MJ never had that kind of firepower to lean on.
Lebron could have been the undisputed greatest of all time, but with his 'Decision' he threw that chance away.
- Did jordan get a title without pipp?CALLES
- you are ignoring kobe...he played in one team throughout his career, and got them a couple of championships...loool
- Sorry, dizzle. This argument doesn't hold water.********
- Lebron is now on a team almost on the level of Jordans, ALMOST. The "decision" was the right one.CygnusZero4

It all comes down to a team effort - LeBron, Wade, Bosh, et al cannot do it by themselves - any great team has a cohesiveness that drives them to success.
I would argue that Jordan's career successfulness was augmented by the arrival of Pippen - hell even Rodman did his part by probably being the best box out guy in the league at the time. Not even Jordan could drive the entire team to the championship. Kobe? Hell, a great, great player, but post-Shaq and all of that, he has had to have a terrific supporting cast in order to be as successful as he has. The Celtics? Where was Bird without a Parrish or McHale? That was one hell of a team.
Ask Julius Erving what it was like to try and carry a team and how much better he was when he had the team-mates he needed. I mean, somebody has to pass the ball, right?
Post "the decision" the question has remained: can they play as a team as opposed to three stars trying to solve a team's problems? This game tonight will go a long way to answering that question.

Game Day Suckers. The day Champs are born.

^ LOL.
Too much analyzing, not enough enjoying. What's the point of comparing Jordan to James anyway? Let's go ahead and wait until Bron retires before we waste our breath. Lebron could get hit by a bus tomorrow and make this entire conversation moot. It's not even fun discussing, because they are pretty much incomparable from everything to their teammates, to league rules, to years played.

@DM - I suspect we compare because we have been presented with the opportunity, the substantive creation of a brand without the years of growth/maturation to support it - Jordan accomplished that with some significant toil... LeBron, with just his jersey numbering efforts, has taken those first significant steps towards that same goal... but the effort does smack of some acceleration/grandstanding, with the inevitable comparisons to come.
All he has to do now is fuck it up with a Tiger Woods move and we can all just move along... =)

I think when people compare James to Jordan, its talking about what they each do/did individually, not their total accomplishments. James is still in the middle of his career, you cant compare him that way to Jordan.
You can only talk about what they did during games, and James is on his level. He almost got Cleveland a championship with not 1 single player worth mentioning. He definitely has what he needs in Miami to win, the issue is it seems like he just isnt sure how much control over games he should take with another superstar that has been there for years.
But I do think that he should play with the Heat like he is the number 1 guy, I think they're better off that way. Wade will do what he does anyway, but James NEEDS to be more aggressive. He hasnt played like that in this series. If he did it would surely be over by now.
- If they lose this series he'll know what he did wrong, and it would be different next season.CygnusZero4
- This is the kind of perspective most people lack though when they made those comparisons.********
- Which is to say, I think you're dead on with what you said.********
- Bc they just look at the big picture, which isnt fair to Lebron. He isnt done playing yet!!!!CygnusZero4
- CygnusZero40
That's what Pippen was talking about when he said James was better than Jordan. Just looking at stats, James is better. He's bigger, stronger, better defender, almost got a ring on a junk team.
People got on Pippen's ass about that because Jordan has 6 rings, but they didnt come until late in his career. Lebron is just getting to that point now when Jordan won his first, so it's not out of the question to say that just as an nba player, James could be better.
- People shouldnt act like Jordan did all of what he did alone. He had Kerr, Rodman, Pippen... come on now.CygnusZero4

Im bored and half drunk Im gonna keep talking about this site defending James. Im a Knicks fan but Ive been watching him very closely just as I did Jordan throughout his entire career.
People seem to have quickly forgotten what James did on the Cavs. Anyone here remember that playoff game against the Pistons in 07 when he scored 48 points, including 29 of his team's final 30? 29 of their final 30!!! Absolutely ridiculous.
- im watching troy... the movie... what did you think of it? its on cable tvCALLES

^ HE KNOWS WHAT JORDAN WOULD DO !!!

Cygnus, the only stats that matter are those that occur in the NBA finals.
And in that respect, LeBron and Jordan aren't even in the same solar system.
- FYI, James career isnt over yet. Not even close.CygnusZero4

Man, this is going to be a hell of a game, period.

I can't remember the last time an NBA Finals seemed so important. So much is on the line tonight for the Heat. Will Nowitzki put on another 40+ point shooting clinic? Will Terry show up for another nine 3-pointers? Or will the Lebron James show finally show up!?
Omgomgomg—I'm excited like a little girl right now.

Lebron threw a noob pass...don't know what is with him...commentator said that his fiancee cheated on him with Rashard Lewis...but I doubt that shit...he even told Rashard phoned Lebron to explain :D don't know how that call looked like...
