At the end of the day, just gotta step up and do it. Tell people, don't tell people, doesn't matter all that much. Chewing some special gum sounds nice but cmon..there's no shortcuts here.
Ultimately, you will be in for PAIN....no pain no gain.

<-=- smoke free since April 9 2009.
Allen Carr's "The Easy way to stop smoking" audio book helped a lot.

the problem is people sit around mewling like kittens trying to come up with magical ways to do it without any discomfort. just stop. it will hurt. it's not going to be fun, but that will pass. just brave the storm and get it over with

@fyoucher1
Or just skip the Chantex and take one long acid trip for three months.
Wake up three months later, and you're cured o_O

I agree. The most sound advice is to just call it quits and stick to it. And that has been said.
But I'll bite. And say
Catch a cold
I don't know anyone who craved a fag in their mouth when they were sick. And I figure by the time you're back on your feet the toxins should be out of your body.

Haven't smoked in years. The mere smell of them now disgusts me. Like i can smell people smoking in cars ahead of me on the freeway while driving. So nasty. Gotta say that it feels good to not have any cravings at all.
- only 7 months for me, after smoking for 15+ years, and I feel the same waymonospaced
- it's to the point now that I actually have a hard time getting with girls who smoke cause it smells so bad.capn_ron
- nothing worse than an ex-smoker for moaning about smoking. zip it.fadein11
- ^ lol. Almost 3 years now, feel the same way. It's such a nasty, disgusting habit.Maaku
- I don't moan about it, but I do find the smell more off-putting than when I was a smoker. I do avoid the smoke or smell if I can though.monospaced
- yep its horrible when I give up - gave up for 2 years and couldn't stand the smell but I didn't whine on about it after smoking most of my adult life...fadein11
- I started again due to the stress of buying our house (any excuse) and it's amazing how those awful smells quickly fade away lol.fadein11
- chewing gum intensely at the moment but still having the odd one... not good.fadein11
- my comments were not directed at you mono by the way - capn_ron sounds a bit weird smelling cards ahead and all that.fadein11
- fadein, fuck off. i'll moan about what i want if you can moan about me moaning. see that!capn_ron
- and don't be mad at me cause cigarettes stink to me. you can like whatever you want to like.capn_ron
- quit for over 2 years now yet the smell doesn't bug me. I kinda like it, actuallyGnash
- @capn_ron you sound like you need a amoke. Chill outfadein11
- amoke=smoke (phone keyboard)fadein11
- I gave up and thought this, but then i realised trying to convince myself i didn't enjoy it acting like a self righteous wankbag like capn ron wasn't worth it.kingsteven
- ^ hahaha - precisely.fadein11
- 3 years stopped after 22yrs smoking. Cut down, did nico-gum when cravings were bad (e.g drinking/socialising... for few months then just stopped.microkorg
- Same here, 2 years after 15 years.
Cut down with meth when the urge hit. Tried Christ, realized I couldn't smoke it. Went back to Meth. Now I'm on sticks againfuturefood
