I think they have a point and its an excellent way of ruining their competition. If you look at the brief they use it in the exact same way as the sony logo on the phone, same context. a green spherical logo with a white swirl and the reflection is the same too. clearly infringing on some territory.

i guess it would depend on the specifics of what they have registered. If part of their unique trademark is the dimensional green sphere then thats prob infringement because they are a competitor selling a similar product. Too close.
