What a week! Last Thursday I had to fly down to California and bury my grandfather. He was 95 years old and lived independently until his very last few days. He was a commander in the US Navy and WWII pearl harbor surviver.
I flew home home Friday and my wife was in labor by Saturday morning.
Sunday my son was born at 2:21 pm.
My only regret is that my grandfather will never meet his great grandson that is named after him.

Congrats fooler. Sorry to hear about your grandfather.
I was born the day after my grandfather passed away. I told my mum (when I could barely talk) that we waved at each other across the clouds when I was coming down and he was going up. My mum and grandmother hadn't at that stage told me when my grandfather had passed away. I've always felt that I knew him.
Ps. I was named after my grandfather's brother for some bizarre reason.
