Libya's long-ruling and feared dictator may have been killed because a youth fighter was angry that he was under the control of another militia.

wasn't this a humanitarian mission,
funny how they bombed the shit out of tripoli and sirte,
to help the so called rebels and now libya will descend in a war that will last long enough for all its ressources to disappear,I swear, it's like people in the 1st world get a solid hardon when they see 3rd world country being sent back to stone age.
"but, but .. the media told us he was a dictator..."

1st world is happy we got a guy in a suit in Libya
- who just declared Islamic law********
- And islamic law is all about destroying west, says your western media?Beeswax

Georges, I think the thing to bear in mind was that these events were backed by the collective will of the Arab League, the UN Security Council and an organized rebel militia.
- no. this was just the U.S. slapping our dick out on the table. Ye-fucking-haw right GeorgesII!sigg

who are the rebels?
without the western support and heavy bombing + sas troops on the ground, they could have fought for years without conquering a single street.but don't you think it's weird how gaddafi's special forces just evaporated from tripoli, if you've heard anything about them, you should be worried about what is going to happen in the next few weeks,

Georges, I understand your concerns.
However, I believe it's far too early too decry the "West" as string-pulling agitators pushing Libya towards regime change. The truth is that a broad majority of Libyans appear to have supported this transition.
- eieio0
Not sure if Libyans were supporting NATO backed rebels raping and torturing their way through the country, they just knew if they said otherwise they'd be fucked.

I agree with George
When was the last time the U.S. "liberated" a country for altruistic reasons? Never
- ********0
There's some confusion here. The U.S. liberated Libya now? We couldn't even check out of our Rixos Hotel rooms.

I think what's being suggested is that the rebels would be fighting for years and years if it wasn't for assistance provided by the west

If you don't like the US doing this, blame England and France. The Republicans are giving them all of the credit anyway.

@ bombay,
solution?do like the chinese,
build bridges, railways, hospitals, roads, infrastructure,
in exchange for minerals/oil/wtv
while staying the fuck out of the country's politic,
it's not like Us can give lessons to anyone about peace and democracy..ask any south american/ middle east-an / south east asian for examples,
is that a good enough solution for you?
that's one- +1dobre
- "thats'one" what george's brain??
can't rememberGeorgesII - Thanks for providing a possible solution rather than just railing against the US daily.DrBombay
- How long do you expect the chinese to "stay the fuck out" of a country's politics btw?TheBlueOne
- The US has sucked, but I'll bet they'll look quite benign to the chinese in about 10 years time.TheBlueOne
- you forget that the US has been almost in constant war for 100 years, when the first chinese bomb drops, I'll take my word backGeorgesII
- word back, but so far,
I'm not impressed by your demagogy and lack of world views, so for you it's ok as long as it's the US that doing it?GeorgesII

it is fairly interesting to think what his rebels will do in the coming months, it is a clusterfuck much like Egypt will be for 50 years. progress my fucking ass
