DAW: Ableton
Synth: Arturia Pigments
Drums: Samples placed in Drum Racks
Bass: U-He Repro 1
Reverb: Valhalla Vintage Verb
Compressor: Ableton Glue
Delay: Softube Tape Echoes
Speakers: Dynaudios + Sub
Plugin/Effect that surprised you: New version of Sonic Charge Synplant
Midi Controller: Push 1 but mostly keyboard and mouseI'm pretty much all in the box now and much more productive for it. The outboard / modular phase was an important learning experience and going back to software with that knowledge has opened things up so much for me. The catalyst to switch back to software was the decision to focus on finishing tracks rather than just endless exploring and jamming and it serves that well.

do y'all do your own mastering? i see a lot of 3rd party plugins being mentioned.
anyone make a vinyl?
- Yes, have pressed vinyl. There is considerations for vinyl mastering re low end and mono etc.. definitely worth paying someoneautoflavour
- The biggest part of mastering is paying someone who hasn’t heard your song 1000 times to make a objective and unbiased assessmentautoflavour
- For online release's of my personal stuff i use https://emastered.co…
Ai based mastering, it's doing "okay" for the price.ApeRobot - For the project I'm hopefully finishing this year, I've considered using people who have mastered albums I really like. But that might speak more to the mixingmg33
- than the mastering, but I'm not sure. I'd definitely use an online service, have tested a few and for what I'm doing it would probably be okay.mg33

- I still want one of these as much as I did when they came out.mg33
- its so much fucking fun. the price was hard to swallow but i use it all the time and the fact that i can just bring it with me wherever and make tunes is ❤️mantrakid
- Very nice. I too have wanted one since they came out. I had a friend that god one on release, barely used it and wouldn't sell it. We don't talk no more.garbage
- Actually kind of depressing, I don't play music anymore and have sold most of my gear. Everything from electric organs to tape loop ratchet gear.garbage
- All that remains is an AKAI MPK25. I still want an OP-1.garbage
- I have one and yeah it's fun to just jam with. Nice when flying too.ephix
- Weren't they just $700 when they came out?garbage
- i think the first version was 700 then they sold out and released a v2 later for 1200 or so, then they released the OP-1 Field (huge upgrade for ~$2000)mantrakid
- Ah, good to know. I think the one I played with was the OG. Maybe someday I'll snag a used one.garbage

DAW: Logic Pro
Synth: Spitfire Audio Cinematic Pads
Drums: Addictive Drums jazz brush kit
Bass: Squire Jag Bass through Archetype Cory Wong bass sim
Reverb: Quiet Theory Prelude
Compressor: vintage MXR DynaComp
Delay: Valhalla Delay plugin
Speakers: AIAIAI TMA-2 Stereo Wireless+
Plugin/Effect that surprised you: Fairfield Circuitry Shallow Water
Midi Controller: Nektar Panorama T4GO.
- how do you find the TMA2? I was amped for them but find them super muddy low end..autoflavour
- I love them. I've used their headphones for years. Had the first edition as my in-office headphones. The wireless ones make guitar recording so much easiermg33
- because I'm usually sitting in front of my computer, and the wired ones just constantly get in the way.mg33

I have the following setup:
A Technics Hi-Fi Amp.
A Vestax mixer connetced to the amp in AUX.
A Mixars (Serato) mixer connected to the amp in CD.Both mixers have two turntables connected to them.
Vestax only plays as expected when i select the AUX source.
Mixars plays when I select the AUX, the CD, the TUNER sources. Can anyone explain me why?
- Everything except phono ins should basically be an ‘aux in’ I think they’re only labeled different for organization’s sakeprophetone
- Maybe a ground issue or something?prophetone
- Both mixers are outputting a stereo line signal so...prophetone
- You could buy some rca splitters maybe to have the 4 rca lines merging into the 2 rca ins on AUXprophetone
- thanks for your replies so far.
1) I know it's all AUX.
2) Could be.
3) Hm...oey_oey - But if i connect a CD player, a Tuner and what do I know, they only play through the selected input.oey_oey
- Too complicated I guess that with the splitters. In the future I will invest in both a channel mixer and in monitor speakers.oey_oey

What is the name of that massive drum pack that someone sells each year on Black Friday? Trying to search for it but can't recall the name.

Hey dudes, i hate to ask but could you do me a solid and slap a like on this video premiere.. im hoping if it has some likes before it drops, the youtube gods will treat it more lovingly:
Basically its a super chill 3 hour video of improvised ambient stuff -- it drops at 2:00pm PST today! Thank you if you can support! Again, sorry to ask. Feels cringey but i gotta.

Newly laid off as of Tuesday, I'm looking at the silver linings in it, one of which being a whole lot more time to work on the album I've been stalling on for a few years.
One thing I've been doing already is completely changing my Logic Pro template to move stuff to aux channels to improve performance and processing speed.
Anything in particular you Logic users swear by doing to keep performance good across multiple tracks? I've got one plugin - the Neural DSP Archetype Cory Wong amp that is so fantastic - the cleanest stereo sound I've ever found - but also a huge processor hog.
- Sorry to hear about work man but cant wait to hear this album!!!!mantrakid
- Yeah sorry to hear it, treat every day like you’re paying yourself with that valuable time and opportunity to focus on a personal project! Go for it!prophetone
- If that even makes senseprophetone
- Thank you! Me too. I'm looking forward to some long uninterrupted days to work on it. Tracks are there, just need to refine and expand themmg33

Also, another Logic question.
Remember how easy the EXS24 was use and load up a set of samples?
Is there a way to do the same thing with the Drum Machine Designer or do you have to do each sample individually?
- Ah man I am brain dead as far as an answer but I remember the ease of Logic back in day... I remember dropping dough on the Logic Big Box packageprophetone
- Was literally a big square box
https://en.audiofanz…prophetone - Good times on the old PowerBook G3prophetone
- I just stick to the multi sampler, got used to the interface (although exs24 was quicker for some things) but i'm not making much music these days.kingsteven
- if you drag a load of samples in to the channels part of the arrange window it'll offer to create a new drum machine designer with those sampleskingsteven
- i find it's a pain in the ass to amend the drum pads beyond that. just seems like a really shitty implementation of ableton's drum rackkingsteven
