White House Looks at Nationalizing Entire Phone Network to Block Hackers
The White House is so worried about Chinese hackers tapping U.S. phone calls it is considering nationalizing the entire next generation phone network.
Fifth generation or 5G cell phone networks will come online in the next few years, but under a radical plan outlined in documents leaked to Axios government officials are mulling building a nationalized network to thwart Beijing.
“We want to build a (5G) network so the Chinese can’t listen to your calls," a senior administration official told Reuters, who confirmed the Axios report.

BEIRUT — The U.S. military said Monday that it is adjusting guidelines for the use of all wireless and technological devices on military facilities amid revelations that fitness trackers can be used to expose the identities of individuals working in sensitive and hazardous locations.
The review came after reports in The Washington Post and elsewhere that a global heat map posted online by the fitness-tracking company Strava reveals the outlines of U.S. military bases in some of the most dangerous locations in the world — along with the routes taken by supply convoys and patrols.

You can now buy one for just more than $1.
Ollolai, a destination in the mountain region of Barbagia on the Mediterranean island of Sardinia, is selling hundreds of abandoned homes for just $1.20.
It’s not the first Italian town to try the gimmick, but it seems to be the first to live up to the promise. It’s also got the beauty and history needed to draw people in.
The real estate bonanza comes with a catch, though. The 200 stone-built dwellings up for grabs are in poor condition and buyers must commit to a refurbishment within three years — which will likely cost about $25,000.
