After every mass shooting in the US, guns sells are going up up up the days after.
Yes, this is how this society work. People are so afraid of guns that they all get one. Its the snake biting his own tail.

- it not just the guns its the psychology. Taking away guns only does so much. Its more of a reason of why does this insanity continue.mugwart
- Cool mug, let America do a beta military weapon grade ban and see if deaths go down, hmmm i have a feeling they may dofadein11

A teen in Canada would have a hard time buying an AR-15 if he wanted to do something like this. But Americans want to keep the right to buy semi-automatic war weapons... to protect themselves.
FFS how many time a US citizen has protected himself with a semi-automatic weapon VS how many time someone made a mass shooting with a semin-automatic weapon? ...
asking the question is answering the question.
- Their thinking just make no sense at allBennn
- The thinking is that the government is taking their guns, not keeping guns out of the hands of dangerous people.eryx
- i'm glad one of my friend got denied gun license twice. not that he has an anger issue, but he's an idiot who shouldn't have guns.pango

Are American kids more terrified of getting shot at school or being attacked by an Islamic extremist?
- I think we know the answer to that questionRamanisky2

Comments on the internet suggest that school shootings are the fault of liberals who are against giving teachers the right to carry concealed weapons and schools should have tighter security.
Apparently guns are important for protection (not just hunting) and everyone should carry one.
- All of the comments must be from OMG.utopian

- I saw one as well.. Horrible .. to see it on video is one thing to actually be there and be witness does not even compute.Ramanisky2

Hehe, Trump already putting the mental illness thing out there to protect the NRA, who funded his campaign. So I guess blame the victimes, blame his family, but keep handing out guns like candy.
I cant stand when people bring up the 2nd amendment. Uh that was enacted when they had flintlocks! Had our forefathers been able to foresee these types of weapons existing, that little rule would look quite different.
It needs to be updated. It is centuries out of date and no longer works in this modern weaponized violent society.

Sickening and sad .. but I feel everyone including all member's of congress should watch this ... if the kids in that class room where forced to be witness then so should all of us.
video doesn't show the shooter but cops helping in clearing the room out and getting kids out to safety.

- Heartbreaking, disgusting, and pure evil. Trump and ever enabler of loose gun rights should be forced to watch this over, and over, and over, and over.mg33

The only ppl who really lead the charge or are motivated to solving the gun issue are those who are directly affected by gun violence. Everyone else just gives a "thoughts and prayers" and washes their hands with it. Recently we had a mass shooting in Vegas, Texas and now this and still the only thing that gets done is more politicians protecting the NRA. I wonder how their opinions would change if the bullets had flown past their loved ones heads.
I hate to say it, but it takes an event on such a massive scale to prompt everyone to really act. Ppl who grew up during the Great depression and went on to fight during WWII are known as the greatest generation....because they all worked together to get us through some of the worst times. But it took an attack on US soil to rally everyone.
In the months after 9/11 everyone in NYC sort of pooled together and acted like a community. I noticed a real shift in ppl. (more volunteering and a bit more overall kindness) Albeit it was short lived and everyone went back to business as usual..and yes, it really upset me to see tourists taking photos standing in front of the WTC site. But for a moment there was a shift.
I just can't imagine what it will really take for us to act and maybe someday be looked at as the "greatest generation to solve gun violence"
Furthermore, I really believe we need to stop publishing the names of the ppl who commit these crimes. This Cruz kid now has his 15 seconds of fame, he should be given a number and stuck in the deepest darkest hole as an example to others that would commit these types of horrific acts....that they WON'T be remembered.
Sorry for the long post.
- Given you're the 'greatest generation' to buy, support, wear & sing violent gangsta music, chances are zero. Shootings are an expression of US culture.********
- Cars & guns; total Americana. For many years, EVERY DAY in USA, 100 people die from each. Bitching about a shooting is like whining when it rains heavy.********

There's no good or bad way to die in a tragedy, but dying in a mass shooting, at 15 years old, while you're at school to learn, it's a fucking sad and unnecessary death.

On a very personal note, when I was in highschool, I was struggling with heavy social anxiety and didnt have much friends, I was having pretty dark thoughts sometimes and was daydreaming about hurting/fighting/killing all the other kids I didnt like, read all the cool ones. I evacuated my anger with heavy metal music, that probably saved me in some ways (thanks Pantera and Sepultura!) So everytime I see mass shooting in school like this, i feel a little bit weird. What if this... what if that... ... And at that time I didnt know anything about mass shooting in schools, Columbine happen in 1999 and I finished highschool in 96 i think. What if i had internet back then and kept reading about mass shooting all day long? Honestly I dont think I would have done anything, but... Who knows. This is a very complex matter.- You can't play "what if's" like that Benn. Internet or not, you found positive outlets and worked your shit out....like a normal, well adjusted human being.GM278
- Hell, you pretty much described a good percentage of us on here and it's how ended up becoming artists. ;)GM278
- probably yes :)Bennn
- Creating also helped me evacuating my anger and darkness, i've made some pretty dark stuff at that timeBennn
- daydreaming as a moody teenager is not same as doing anythinglowimpakt
- well, if you had internet back then and were super pissed, to get to the point where you go through with a mass shouting takes some extreme mental breakdownshapesalad
- Would you even have had access to a gun, Benn? Most Canadian homes don't have them easily available for youth to seize the opportunity.ETM
- yeah thats what i said at the start of my postBennn
