Any recommendations for good restaurants in Dublin?
Marco Pierre white for steaks
Town bar and grill
Or if you wanna splash the cash. Shannahans
Been to a fair few countries.
Best countries I've been to for food
Australia and Ireland hands down
Besides the "Chop House" and "Chapter One" from the video above - any other recomendations?
What are you looking for? Fancy, pricey, good grub, local grub, good decor, atmosphere, local vibe? Some of the above are sort of... mutually exclusive.
Seafood? I am sure there are fresher oysters in Howth than you get in New York if you're into this sort of thing.
you might want to watch this before you visit so you know what people are talking about
Cornucopia is pretty much quick street veg food, I love their soups.
Likewise, http://kcpeaches.com/ is good for quick self-serve, good salads and very good coffee. They have good a wine-driven restaurant downstairs.
Fallon and Byrne mentioned in the video is similar: good deli, good atmosphere, with a more proper restaurant upstairs.
Mao in Chatham Row used to be really good before the fire, haven't been there since the reopening. http://www.cafemao.com/restauran…
I I really liked http://www.thekitchen.ie/ had probably the best chicken wings in Ireland there.
The Church is worth checking out if just for the venue... It's a converted church with a bar, a restaurant in the upper gallery and an underground dancefloor, what gives it an uncanny vibe is how much of the original interior they retained.
There are a few good small places on Aungier street, you just walk down and pick one, I don't remember the names.
Depends what you want ... What type of restaurants are you looking for?
Pay no heed to Bourdain, he comes here, does no research, gets pissed, highlights some obvious places and some really crap places. He ALWAYS gets it wrong.
I second - KC Peaches and Cornucopia are good. If you are going to visit south side of Dublin, I recommend The Hen House (http://www.thehenhouse.ie/) and Real Gourmet Burger (http://www.realgourmetburger.co... There are also nice cafes Gourmet Food Parlour (http://gourmetfoodparlour.com/) and Cafe du Journal (https://www.facebook.com/Cafedu...
^ urls went mad - just google those places
@eoin - have you eaten in one of those? I have, can't complain and I wouldn't say these are crap. Didn't say that these are fancy/posh. In fact, I avoid fancy/posh places.
@303 Sorry, didn't mean to appear snooty. Yes, I've eaten in them all, I'm a restaurant critic. I just think that there are far better options than those. I did come across as obnoxious and I apologise for that.
I had a cracking meal in Eatery 120 (down in Ranelagh) last summer. Seems to have mixed reviews tho...
