Seriously, you guys ("muriccans") love to waste your time on non stories,
turn off the goddam tv
- prophetone0
in case any of you are still interested, a good little read.

I've wanted to read an unbiased account of the events, and that seems really, really difficult, but the above link by prophetone actually seems to be as close as it might get.

If I can articulate this properly...
The thing that really bothers me is that all the outrage about Zimmerman being found not guilty reflects a complete disregard and disrespect for the justice system. It may not always work to your favor, but it's there as a system we've had for hundreds of years to uphold laws, and punish those who break them, requiring enough proof and evidence of a crime for a jury to look at that evidence and 100% believe that there is enough evidence to tell the complete story, with no impartiality, and prove that someone committed the crime.
Why are these people not mad at the prosecutors for doing a poor job on the case (according to many who analyzed the case, they did a bad job at several things)?
They are mad at Zimmerman, they are completely perpetuating the race-card game with their attitudes, and they are showing a total disregard for how the justice system works.

that article doesn't really say anything. it's just distilled an interpretation of interpretations and assumed a solid hold on the situation because of he watch the court case (which is nothing but a series of opposing fictions)
- prophetone0
and that's exactly it though. nothing anyone says is gospel unless you were there, standing over them.
the article does a good job of interpreting what was 'presented' to us, the people who weren't there, standing over them in those moments.
it's the best i can do and you too. it's tragic, that's it.

in that case I revert to logic.
zimmerman sees a young man, assumes he is a problem that needs to be confronted, the rest is history
- so he racially profiled a kid on a munchie run and his bosses tell him not to pursuemonospaced
- the rest is historymonospaced
- now that's some assumptionprophetone
- That's not assumption. He called it in. They said not to approach him and he did anyway. That's fact no?monospaced
- There's a fucking recording of it.monospaced

Regardless of what was presented, this happened... (therefore the outrage)
Zimmerman was instructed by police to stay in his car, he didn't, instead, as a private and equal citizen, he confronted Martin, Martin defended himself from whatever gray area happenings occurred until Zimmerman felt it necessary to shoot him.
To claim Zimmerman was acting in self-defense makes it seem that Martin approached him, which we all know not to be the case. Zimmerman killed Martin for defending himself from his (Zimmerman's) attacks.
If Zimmerman would have done as instructed by authorities, Martin would be alive.
Zimmerman is a murderer.

When's the "Deal With It" Zimmerman meme coming out?

Albums in an idiot. Listen to the 9-11 call. First police told him to stay in the car, and the juror talked about this part, the police then asked him where Trayvon was going, basically asking him to find out.
Zimmerman was walking through the complex looking, and then was confronted by an aggressive Trayvon, who turned into a tough thug (not surprising) and attacked him. Even though Trayvon was only 17 he was bigger than GZ.
GZ had multiple injuries on his head, the back of his head being slammed into the sidewalk. It was proven that TM was on top, and therefore likely the aggressor and winning the fight. GZ said that TM said he was going to die tonight, the witness close by said TM was on top, and it thought it was GZ screaming for help, as did the jurors. Then he shot him.
I would have done the same exact thing. I wouldnt lay there getting my ass kicked in until he cracked my skull open or jammed my nose into my brain. I would have used deadly force if I had to, which is legal, and GZ was acquitted for that reason.
Deal. With. It.
- Right on.shaft
- Trayvon was taller not bigger. GZ had nearly 50 pounds on him if I'm not mistakenGlitterati_Duane
- If you've ever played sports (or fought) you'd know that 50 pounds is an advantageGlitterati_Duane

Trayvon was acting suspiciously that night. He wasnt going straight home. He was walking around slowly in the rain, cutting through the back of houses, and was stopping, changing directions, and looking in homes.
Doesnt matter if he was black or not, I would have thought that was very strange. Now if I call 911, and at first they tell me to stay in the car, but then after that, ask me where he is going, like GZ I might want to help out, since they asked. He was pissed off at various break ins in the neighborhood and wanted to help.
Trayvon became aggressive, was pummeling GZ, as described by the witness, and it escalated into tragedy. Yes it could have been avoided, but the 911 operator is a bit at fault here. And that juror talked about how critical this was because it isnt like GZ disobeyed the police, he was asked where TM was going. People ignore this part of it and just act like GZ was out looking for an excuse to kill a black kid, which is absurd.
- CygnusZero40
Calling him a murderer is just ignorant. Pretty damn sure he didnt intend to kill anyone that night, and the fact that they ended up face to face is partially the 911 operators fault. But when they did confront each other, it really sounds like Trayvon started the fight. At that point it is self defense and you have the right to use deadly force if you feel you are in serious danger. George looked pretty beat up in those pix.
Its not for us to decide how he should have reacted in that situation. He obviously felt it was getting to a critical point where he could be seriously injured when none of the neighbors would come out to help. Next time youre alone with a guy bigger than you, and he's on top and beating the living shit out of you, see how you react.
They checked GZ hands, and there was no marks from punching, which means he likely never even really fought back, possibly couldnt. TM's hands were pretty roughed up from being the attacker.

he killed someone legally sure, he's still a murderer.

albums - Thanks. I finally see the police did not actually tell him to stay in the car like lots of media suggested.shaft
- according to zimmerman, he didn't disregard instructions. He stepped out to look for a street sign to give police his location.omg
- Trayvon noted by his girlfriend that a "Cracker" was following him. Saw him get out of his car, and ambushed himomg

Zimmerman said he stepped out of the car to find a street sign so he could tell police his location. After told by the dispatcher not to pursue Martin, Zimmerman said, “As I headed back to my vehicle, the suspect emerged from the darkness and said ‘you got a problem’ [?] I said ‘No.’ The suspect said ‘you do now.’” Martin then punched him in the face and knocked him to the ground, he said.- You know what they say about history, how it is written by the victor.albums
- Now what is Trayvon's version of the events that occurred? oh, yeah...albums
- upset are those who see such a tragic loss, i agree.omg
- but Zimmerman's story lines up with all the facts, proof, and police reportsomg
- what exactly could Trayvon say to delude the facts?omg
- Dispatcher did not tell Zimmerman not to pursue Martin, he said he didn't NEED to do it.shaft
