Contractors I spoke with said they would frequently come to work and find their workstation for the day in dire condition — encountering boogers, fingernails, and pubic hairs, among other items. The desks would be cleaned whenever Facebook made one of its regular planned visits to the site. At other times, employees told me, the office was filthy.
(I don't know why this cracked me up so much, but it cracks me up to think of a tech writer having to type "boogers."

Is there a way to get notifications on "message requests" from people I'm not friends with?
Occasionally someone will find me on FB and message me there instead of email for some reason. And I never check that random hidden folder.
Why doesn't FB send me a notification?
