If an employee sets up your company page on facebook and gets fired. If it doesn't give you administrative access, Facebook gives you no mechanism to get the page back, other than creating a new one and starting from scratch... I'm helping a client deal with this shit.
- I actually have access to my artist page via a grey account. Still can't transfer ownership to my new account. Apparently they just don't care.PhanLo
- Same if your account gets stolen. Happened to a friend, who kept reporting a stolen account. They just blocked him from doing it.PhanLo
- The obvious answer is: Have the foresight to not let a single employee hold the keys to the castle. Especially one you plan on firing.section_014
- it more complicated than that section_014. Sometimes could be a business partner, or a manager, even family member...Salarrue
- If you have corp FB pages using gray account emails as admin you have to assign multiple admin roles asap to real FB users asap as they’re cracking downprophetone
- I can see FBs pov on this BUT almost people like myself do not want my personal FB associated with work stuff at all...prophetone
- So FB has essentially removed any way to have someone keep work/life separated which is crazy to me as dumbs it all down to casual personal use now onlyprophetone
- Even though at same time FB is pishing it’s “business” tools and apps... I’d love to be convinced how this makes any sense for many FB usersprophetone
- I just went through all of this myselfprophetone

Europe faces Facebook blackout
Ireland’s data authority informs its EU counterparts that it will block the platform from sending user data to the US.Europeans risk seeing social media services Facebook and Instagram shut down this summer, as Ireland's privacy regulator doubled down on its order to stop the firm's data flows to the United States.
The Irish Data Protection Commission on Thursday informed its counterparts in Europe that it will block Facebook-owner Meta from sending user data from Europe to the U.S. The Irish regulator's draft decision cracks down on Meta's last legal resort to transfer large chunks of data to the U.S., after years of fierce court battles between the U.S. tech giant and European privacy activists.

I finally got control over my artist page on Facebook after trying for about a year to sign back in. I ended up getting an email saying the old account that was the admin for it was going to get deleted at the end of August and I'd have to add a new admin.
I'd tried before to do it multiple times but it never worked, but for whatever reason this time it worked straight away.
So bonus I suppose. Can interact with the boomers again.
- i guess they're desperate to let anyone in these days (no slur on you, rather on them). i get regular spam suggesting i'm having trouble logging back in andhans_glib
- would i like any help? no thanks zuck you cuntface, i'm fine without your fake shitteryhans_glib
- Yeah, I hear you Hans, I set up another account so I could use the Oculus headset, 5 years away and it's exactly the samePhanLo

'Facebook’s parent Meta prepares to slash thousands of jobs – reports
Layoffs come after $80bn wiped off company’s market value last month amid global economic downturn'
https://www.theguardian.com/tech…
'Zuckerberg said the company’s focus would be on the artificial intelligence powering recommendations for Instagram Reels, advertising and its metaverse exploration.'
So, the whole metaverse thing is what's making FB haemorrhage money. No-one cares about it, and the android's solution is to pour more into it. And brands are hardly bothering to fork out for a media spend on FB anymore.
He's a fucking idiot. I really can't see FB surviving for much longer, and good riddance to it, too.

- the only reason why this sucker is still going is because they were lucky to snap up Instagram & Whatsapp. They're keeping facebook (Meta) afloat.NBQ00

A leak from the European Data Protection Board reveals that the EU's top privacy regulator is about to overrule the Irish Data Protection Commission and declare Facebook's business model illegal, banning surveillance-based ads without explicit consent.
