fuck facebook. really.
the other day i received some spam from the bush hall, an event venue in west london. they were advertising an 80s themed NYE bash, seemed really cheesy, and i forwarded the email to my wife as a joke, with some sarcastic comment.
a few days later i got a message via instagram that i had 'liked' the event on my facebook page.
the facebook page is under my hans_glib moniker. i haven't logged into the account for years - i can't even remember the login details anymore. up till the other day the last entry was "i think it's time to quit facebook." after some auto-report of buying candles or celery or some such inanery.
so somehow facebook has taken the action of forwarding an email under one name and turned it into a (totalluy unwarranted) "like" on an account in a different name.
if that isn't properly sinister, what is?

Just deleted my account.
For the last year I barely posted anything besides links to videos or some events.I can't stand it anymore the "me me me" show.
I was once part of it.But damn, everybody has an opinion on everything and the quantity of conspiracy theories and manipulation...fucking hell.
And having different friends posting the same links that someone posted like 10 years ago...fuck, is there anything new?
Besides my Mum I barely spoke to anyone.
Every time I added someone to my friends list I would write people but rarely received a reply.
I had once 600 friends on it and could easily have more but in the end I was trying to sort the list to 100 that really matter and replied.
Maybe it's me :-D
Besides, Facebook is for old people ;-)

I've been wondering for a couple years if Facebook will be the lynchpin in an economic crisis.
Like the 'cool factor' of web sites and the ebb and flow of users could seriously fuck up the concept of business viability if Facebook were to, say, crash in the stock market after a drop in US popularity.
Recently one of the Jenner-Kardashian tribe said something negative about not using snapchat and the company's stock just plummeted ... when Facebook becomes uncool to the point of MySpace it could have a real effect on the conversation around digital enterprise.

It has been a long time since I actually got an update about my fellow people from it. I only see weird memes and stuff about people I don't want to know, like Trumps latest brainfart Tweet. Should I try Instagram instead? I don't really want to post personal stuff, I just want to stay connected & updated with my crowd but there is nobody posting on FB anymore.
On the other hand, I'm glad I don't have to build these stupid prize apps and newsletter subscription tabs anymore. Their API has been shit anyways.
