Just crazy. Half of LA burned down. Very sad. A lot of rich & famous people affected who can afford other homes but there are many normies too that aren't off that well.
And hopefully it sheds more light on the crooked insurance companies who just want to maximize their profits and are completely useless.
- 3 artists I know have lost their entire studio/homes, all their archives. Pretty grim.PhanLo
- It’s not half of LA.monospaced

So many houses built from wood...
- Problem is, if they build from concrete, and a bad enough earthquake hits, those houses can't flex with it like wood can.mg33
- Kind of damned if you do, damned if you don't, you know?mg33
- And how have those photos been gathered that quickly, especially when police aren't letting people into certain areas?mg33
- re: concrete vs. quakes, not an architect but pretty sure you can easily go 5-6 levels even under 6-7 quakes no problem
Things will crash inside sure ofcgrafician - ...but not the entire building.
They can try next time, or just cut the bushes more oftengrafician - S: https://x.com/rtwlz/…grafician

Tokyo's Masterplan
Tokyo's plan to save the city from Fire, Flood, Earthquake, Volcanos, Tsunami's. Part of the plan is to take down the wood-built homes and replace them with concrete earthquake-proof structures.
- toyko is not build in a dessert... does that comparison lot of sense to l.a when i comes to fire ?neverscared
- desert.... dessert would be nice...neverscared
- how many wildfires burn in tokyo compared to l.a... that cityplanners wouldnt switch if it would be so efficient... esp. in highly regulated space like calineverscared
- wood will rather have a rennaissance i thinkneverscared

- Watch the vid. Tokyo was ravaged by fire and nearly all destroyed. earthquake hit at lunch when everyone was cooking in their wood built homes.microkorg
- My point being, tokyo doing ALL they can to protect the city. These HUGE projects.

Hey LA peeps!
Any monthly electric bike rentals you would recommend ?
Will be in and around Hollywood for the next few weeks and it doesn't look like I should rely on Lime over there.
Thanks!
