I have a really rare family name and sadly it doesn't mean anything,
but in the past months, I got to meet people with names, I find awesome and I'm wondering if any of you have names that signify something or are just plain awesome,
example: rocket, lazer, powers, etc

I think one of the most unfortunate surnames I've come across so far is Bastian Schweinsteiger's (FC Bayern München and German national football team).
For those of you who can't speak the local patois in Germany, 'Schweinsteiger' literally means 'pig-raiser'.

Lots of family name in Quebec are related to professions. Since we're all french-settlers, we were a bunch peasant working hard with our hands.
I would make a list but you wouldnt get them, its all in french.
- benfal990
lots of family name are also related to a personality trait.
Like for exemple: Bob The Happy (freely translated)
I think we were a bunch of no name peasant settlers with no name and many people were givin name based on their personality or profession.

I have fairly unique last name,
Since taking my last name my wife now shares the name of a famous pornstar, and we also had to do a bit of research when naming our children to make sure they weren't also pornstars names!

My last name is Drago which is Italian for "Dragon"
