Trumps defense
- monospaced1
He just said (paraphrased) that: the people are smart enough to pick a new administration, and they just did! Their system worked!
This is in direct contradiction to Trump's claims that the election was rigged. His defense of Trump is that the election was fair, Trump lost, and democracy is not at risk.
- Mad. Trump must be squirming in his seat!mort_
- bad faith arguments left and right, jfc, it's crazy. This is due process, this is the process, come testify!!! bullshitwhatthefunk

- God doesnt like when people drink water without a hat? Educate me, i dont understandBennn
- That's right.
'Thou shalt only drink water whilst wearing a couvre-chef.'Continuity - He didn't wear his yamulke for reasons related to optics. I guess Trump being defended by orthodox jews is probably not his supporter's favorite thing?monospaced
- He must say a prayer before eating/drinking, and that's what he's doing, while covering his head. To stay orthodox.monospaced
- That's a fucking inefficient religion.Continuity
- @mono correct, but he's not even doing it right. The hand is not considered an effective way to stay orthodox. If you look closely, he's using the cap to..garbage
- ..cover his head. Aside from the fact that you don't have to pray for every sip, that's also suspect. Probably habit.garbage
- Why are you criticizing me? Did I say he did it correctly? Do you think I'm an orthodox Jew? I'm only saying what he was doing, and I'm not wrongmonospaced
- Lol jesus christ chill everyoneGuyFawkes
- @mono, lol I was not criticizing you, what the hell. I was saying you were right, but also he was still doing it wrong.garbage
- Big chill bro.garbage
- Explanation: if you tilt your head back too far while wearing the Jewish skullcap, it falls off. There is a clip, but if u have no hair the clip doesn't work.cherub
- Touch your head with the cap before drinking from a bottle. I can see this catching on.dbloc

Trump unhappy with his impeachment attorney's performance
Trump was almost screaming as Castor struggled to get at the heart of his defense team's argument, which is supposed to be over the constitutionality of holding a trial for a president no longer in office.
- yuekit1
Obviously most Republicans will never vote to impeach Trump under any circumstances. More important question is whether the party will take any steps to get rid of him after this is over.
It's definitely not in the interest in all these politicians like Ted Cruz and the 500 or so other people who think they can be president in 2024 to have to compete against Trump.
The most practical option might be to simply pay him off to go away. Knowing how corrupt Trump is and how he seemingly has all these debts and legal liabilities.
But then again maybe the GOP simply isn't organized enough to pull it off. During Trump's presidency you see again and again how bad incentives push people to make ridiculous decisions that aren't at all in their long term interest.
- they'd be mad to hang onto him as some kind of kingmaker. Anyone ambitious enough to win in '24 won't want to have to seek Trump's approval foreverFax_Benson
- I'm guessing Liz Cheney is going to have a go. She's been setting herself up the last couple of weeks.Continuity

I doubt the former Dotard in Chief will go down in this trial, but there is some pretty damaging evidence being put forth against him.
