Just noticed when I get out of the car, if I've been driving for half an hour or more and I slightly stiffen up...when I walk it's not so much my legs doing the moving...I almost walk by moving my hips and it must look like a bit of a waddle...then I remembered my mother used to do that and she looked like an old lady when she did it.
Fark me...horrific. Now make every effort to use my legs...not my hips.

I used to flippantly joke/remark every year on my birthday that turning x-age didn't feel any different than being the previous age.
Today, I turned 49. I don't physically feel any older than my late-30s, nor do I particularly look like I'm 49. Fuck, though, I'm really feeling the passage of time.
Forty. Fucking. Nine. Where did it all go?

- grafician, come to Londondrgs
- I wanted them so bad by the end of the 90s and the beginning of 2000. Bought my first pair in 2010 they lasted ages, basically my only pair of sneakers.oey_oey
- They're good running shoes. I got my first pair in the 70s. They're ugly though. If you're not using them for sports, it's an age issue.CyBrainX

My shoulders hurt from sleeping wrong. How do you get hurt sleeping?
- I can relate to thissausages
- Try to sleep on your back rather than on the side. I am a side sleeper, too, so I can also relate to it.SimonFFM
- Side-sleeper here, too. I figure it's because — when I do that — my shoulder spend the whole time I'm on a given side internal rotated.Continuity

- I say this, but remember being worse when I was 25. So I just shrug and try to do my yoga daily, prevent what you can.formed

Cynicism, or, rather, pragmatism/realism.
We're approaching 8 billion people on earth. We are creatures of habit and comfort. I don't believe for a few second, that people changing their ways will be remotely close to the defining factor in combating climate change. People (on a global level) are too uninformed, too lazy, too indifferent. Changing their ways & views is relevant, but WAYYYYY too slow a method.
I recycle, I occasionally take trains instead of planes, I turn off the electronics on standby, I vote for climate-friendly politicians. As a some Swedish activist said, "blah, blah, blah". Will this solve the crisis? It will be a factor, but nuh uh. The informed city-dweller in developed countries are doing something, but that's a sub-percentile demographic.
The solution, if there ever comes one, will be breakthroughs i technology. Fusion energy, fully electric cars, AI, robots, whatever. The solution has to be convenient for people to adopt, and will be one that doesn't disrupt capitalism, who's fighting teeth and claw against all obstacles of profit.

- FYI recycling is a bit of a sham. Instead, buy absolutely nothing if you can. If you can’t, just don’t buy anything with any plastic, ever.nb
- It’s obviously impossible but there are many options. For example, I won’t buy drinks that come in plastic bottles. Only metal cans or glass. It mattersnb
