Thinking of giving t-shirts as "swag" for new customers to our software.
Curious if you guys have seen any cool t-shirts or other "swag" you've gotten from software you use?
I wanna come up with something badass for my new SaaS and not sure if printing t-shirts with a logo is really THAT cool...
I know a guy who's doing these shirts:
for his users.
wondering if there's anything else out there maybe cooler for the customer...
my software has to do with emailing... specifically tracking your emails and ROI from each one... probably need to come up with some really good "catch phrase" or "slogan" that ties into what we're doing.
appreciate any ideas or direction you guys might have.
thx :)

nice! never thought of that one. :)
was thinking at first of some slogan or something tied into the software... its all about sending emails... and tracking the ROI on them... so something with cool typography like "send email, get paid".... but that was kinda lame... LOL :-(
- just think about what you yourself might actually want or use - anything else is landfill.detritus
- thanks dude. yeah just having a hard time with a good/catchy slogan that fits...dconstrukt

- oh dude.. I've been posting meme's like a MOFO on FB to build the buzz on this so far... like 3x a day for the last 3 weeks...dconstrukt
- You could focus on something something catchier, but a better message might help your customers instead.********

Try to make something that relates to your software. If it's security, you could send out something related to that idea. What kind of software? The kinds of products you're able to slap a logo onto or design is almost limitless these days.
- yeah this is what i'm having a difficult time with... usually it "hits me" but with this I haven't been able to come up with any good slogan/angle... etc.dconstrukt
- I meant, aside from slogan, find a product itself that relates, not just a t-shirt.monospaced
- ah got it. I found a site that sells TONS of items... just need to keep lookingdconstrukt

they are local to me, a buddy in the business recommended them... looking through but there's SOO much shit!dconstrukt

If it's about sending something, why not make a rad poster that is die-cut and scored to make a sweet paper airplane? What if it's a custom postcard for sending regular mail? Have a brainstorm.

Agree with mono - memorability is entirely in the dependent on how relevant it is to your product or service.
- its about email + ROI... so its kinda odd to find something for that, no? customers would be online marketers. I could send them a J? lol most probably smoke :)dconstrukt
- it's not odd no... just be conceptual! A notebook is used to collect valuable information, so is a tote bagmonospaced
- what about a flashlight to find value places? I already prosed a poster that turns into an airplane (sending email). Have fun with itmonospaced
- ah cool... interesting concept with the flashlight... thx dude!dconstrukt

@Uan - stickers is an awesome idea. there was a killer site i had bookmarked a while back where you can get them printed.
@Monospaced - great ideas... just racking my brain trying to figure out something that fits... mostly i think slogan wise...
thanks for the ideas guys.
I think I really need a "slogan" or something cool... that you'd WANT to wear.
for example... there's this software called "click funnels"... the guy uses the slogan of "funnel hacking"... and the shirts say "#funnelhacker"
so people identify with that and want to wear them.
its basically "reverse engineering" someone's sales funnel and then re-working it yourself using his drag and drop funnel builder software.
he's done an amazing job of branding that slogan to his software...
my software is an analytics software for people sending emails...
it shows you which emails are making money, which aren't... who your buyers are, where they are located and how they are buying (devices etc)
been having a BITCH of a time coming up with something badass...
One Idea I had was to do a contest maybe here or somewhere for a little bit of cash, maybe a hundred or two... or something... (super tight now as I've been paying up the wazoo to get this software completed and live)... for slogan and t-shirt design...
thoughts on that?
- the tshirt contest/ slogan thing...
remove that idea from your brain now please.Miguex - @Miguex.. curious why no t-shirt? any other ideas for swag products? (coffee mug? mousepad?) or something else?dconstrukt

Dude, seriously, there's nothing we want.
Stuff, t-shirts etc, just becomes a responsibility for the receiver.
Printed t-shirts, really, seriously, mostly equates to a big sign on your chest saying "I have no sense of style and let me imprint this 'logo' that I think is cool, or slogan, onto your eye balls."
It'll be cheap stuff either way, as you're giving it away, so it's just more junk people don't specifically want. Novelty. Ends up in a landfill. It's a waste of earths resources.
How about simply a discount on your SaaS during launch, referral discounts... One free email tracking per sign up to your newsletter. etc.
Or get creative - edit a witty youtube video together that shows a useful but comical scenario of email tracking - maybe take some news footage of Hillary etc, see if you could edit a narrative that builds a funny use case of how your SaaS could have saved her ass. etc.
- we already are offering a crazy deal when we go live... but in our markets, the customers seem to love swag stuff... they post on FB, in photos and shit.dconstrukt

- < this. We get sweeties from the company we order our software from. New Cinema4D is cool, but godis is waaay cooler.face_melter
- oh cool... now that is very different.dconstrukt

- That's what I meant.monospaced
- yep, other version of your poster to plane idea.uan
- now thats different. pretty rad.dconstrukt

Not t-shirts. Who in their right mind would wear a t-shirt from an email tracking service? I doubt the ROI on t-shirt advertising is worth it. When was the last time you picked a service because you saw it on a t-shirt somewhere.
I agree with stickers or sweets. But really all of this stuff that you can give away will be low quality and mostly get thrown away.
Apple still give away stickers I guess.
I'd make it something useful and if they remember your service by association then great. Do people still use USB memory sticks? How about a branded iphone cable? People are always losing those.
Think about what you use a lot and is useful to you and look at those things. Or think about tools you use relating to emails.
Even just a nice pen is useful. But not t-shirts – too many issues with style, fit, delivery etc
- Completely agree! Branded USB cables are a great idea too... always useful, and in a bind, the memory of the saviour .. well, binds!detritus
- baskerville - see my post with the image of the t-shirt on top - also check "click funnels" and you'll see customers wearing both shirts... they seem to love itdconstrukt
- the cables are interesting... the sweets (above) are too... and yeah less issues with sizes etc.dconstrukt
- yeah, t-shirts are tough because you have to have all different sizes, men and women, and then you end up with product you can't really get rid ofmonospaced

Branded USB coffee warmer, something like the link below. I was looking into this a while back and there was a site that made these and they weren't expensive either. Folks will use these I think. I can't imagine not having a coffee warmer.
- Yet I can't imagine having one.detritus
- lol didn't even know those things existed! gotta love aliexpress!! :)dconstrukt
- i drink coffee all morning, its a necessityfyoucher1
- "I can't imagine not having a coffee warmer." Funny. I can.jagara
- I'm drinking coffee out of that exact same mug right now.fooler
- instant butt warmer tooOP31
- wonder how many fires they've causedsyst_m
- Do you have a link for the branded ones you were looking in to?Cosmodrome
- nice wau to set the house on fireBennn
- chinese usb coffee warmers... something tells me "fire hazard" LOLdconstrukt
- do these even work?formed
- No clue. I have a Brookstone one which is well made, stainless steel, etcfyoucher1
- A lot of peeps use paper cups. This wouldn't work on them, would it?stoplying
- I've used various types of warmers. Don't work well if you take milk or cream. The bottom stays warm and the top cools, so you get clumping/separation.ETM
- Like that gross skin on top if you boil milk.ETM
