    If the key benefit of the material is vibration dampening then represent that, not the material. With an icon you're trying to say one thing clearly, not create a reason to have supplemental information to explain it.

    I'm not sure the fidelity that you're able to deploy on the product, but my mind goes to a simplified steel girder (yeah I get that it's not actually cast iron) that starts as bit of a waveform and then goes straight to represent calming down vibration.

    Clearly I don't know what the other icons are meant to represent, but it's always best to communicate the one thing you hope to get out of that brief time someone looks at the icon. Unless your consumers think of cast iron primarily as a vibration dampening material (rather than a strong or heavy one) it feels like your boss needs to understand that their ask may not be right.
