This man isn't a protester. He was just a guy sitting at a traffic light when cops shot his car with a tear gas round. He got out to yell at them because his pregnant wife is in the vehicle. So they opened fire on them.

I think the whole problem with America really is the fucking gun culture. Guns are just too easy and too lethal a weapon to deploy in most circumstances - they instill fear in good people and shit cops, and they escalate every confrontation or - as here - enable remote decision making to have terrible consequence.
We have some armed police here in Britain, but it's not at all common...

The president is incapable of even a statement on this, so he just hides in the White House and shouts his slogans via social media in all caps? This is a time of crisis and the President responds with a campaign slogan? From four years ago?

It pains me to look at this photo I took last night. The stance of the cops, the fear in the man’s face. I kept thinking about Soweto.Last night’s very peaceful protest in Brooklyn ended in violence and mayhem near Cadman Plaza. It was heartbreaking to see how many cops in riot gear were on the streets. They blocked us in, they exerted their power and authority and then they attacked. Unprovoked but using the unjust curfew as an excuse. I saw men and women hit with batons and people fleeing in fear. These cops were angry and didn’t look like they wanted to embrace change. It was heartbreaking but we will fight on!'

So this has been popping up in my LinkedIn feed today, as ad agencies are trying to capitalise on what's happening, and I think it really pisses me off:
It's a completely contradictory message. On the one hand, you have the BLM line at the bottom. But then — at the top — you have that range of skin tones from black to lily Anglo-Saxon white; and that, to me, means that old right-wing canard, 'All Lives Matter'.
FFS. I really, really wish companies of every description would just shut the fuck up right now.
