Everything for what we hated the right wing -- love of censorship, sexual puritanism, total conviction in its righteousness and desire to fight and forbid all other opinions - is now a manifestation of leftism.

The 18th century definition of left wing politics doesn't make sense anymore. The left all over the world are puritans and Stalinists, who crave censorship and work for the profit of international corporations. The rights on the contrary have won the voices of the traditionally left voters (working class and petty bourgeoisie). I myself signed out from the left in mid 2010s, and have been sitting on the fence since then, not knowing what side to pick.

The left are also adopting the role of racist wingnuts, normally associated with the right, but this is a different, new bonafide racism, although the result will be the same as in 1930s, racially segregated toilets:

The Left is Now the Right
    https://taibbi.substack.com/p/th…
"“Diversity through segregation” sounds like another idea clipped from poor over-invoked George Orwell, but it surged in recent weeks as the Smithsonian-style conception of “antiracism” caught fire.

In the media context, diversity consultants recently invited Intercept employees to a “Safe Space Conversation” that would feature “two breakout groups – one for those who identify as people of color and one for those who identify as white.”

The same strategy is used in DiAngelo’s version of antiracist training. A theater employee forced to go through her program described the shock of being separated into “affinity groups” in this episode of the Blocked and Reported podcast. If you’re wondering what employees who “identify as white” can learn from being put in a room without minority co-workers and urged to “express themselves sincerely and honestly,” you’re not alone.

At Princeton, the situation was even more bizarre. On July 4th, hundreds of faculty members and staff at Princeton University signed a group letter calling for radical changes.

Some demands seem reasonable, like requests to remedy University-wide underrepresentation among faculty members of color. Much of the rest of the letter read like someone drunk-tweeting their way through a Critical Theory seminar. Signatories asked the University to establish differing compensation levels according to race, demanding “course relief,” “summer salary,” “one additional semester of sabbatical,” and “additional human resources” for “faculty of color,” a term left undefined. That this would be grossly illegal didn’t seem to bother the 300-plus signatories of one of America’s most prestigious learning institutions."

    ...

"The National Museum of African American History and Culture created a graphic on “Aspects and Assumptions of White Culture” that declared the following white values: “the scientific method,” “rational, linear thinking,” “the nuclear family,” “children should have their own rooms,” “hard work is the key to success,” “be polite,” “written tradition,” and “self-reliance.” White food is “steak and potatoes; bland is best,” and in white justice, “intent counts.”

The astute observer will notice this graphic could equally have been written by white supremacist Richard Spencer or History of White People parodist Martin Mull. It seems impossible that no one at one of the country’s leading educational institutions noticed this messaging is ludicrously racist, not just to white people but to everyone (what is any person of color supposed to think when he or she reads that self-reliance, politeness, and “linear thinking” are white values?).

The exhibit was inspired by white corporate consultants with Education degrees like Judith Katz and White Fragility author Robin DiAngelo, who themselves echo the work of more consultants with Ed degrees like Glenn Singleton of Courageous Conversations. Per the New York Times, Courageous Conversations even teaches that “written communication over other forms” and “mechanical time” (i.e. clock time) are tools by which “whiteness undercuts Black kids.”

The notion that such bugbears as time, data, and the written word are racist has caught fire across the United States in the last few weeks, igniting calls for an end to virtually every form of quantitative evaluation in hiring and admissions, including many that were designed specifically to combat racism. Few tears will be shed for the SAT and ACT exams, even though they were once infamous for causing Harvard to be overpopulated with high-scoring “undesirables” like Jews and Catholics, forcing the school to add letters of reference and personal essays to help restore the WASP balance."

It’s unsurprising that in the mouths of such people, the definitions of “whiteness” sound suspiciously like lazy suburban white stereotypes about Black America, only in reverse. They read like a peer-reviewed version of Bill de Blasio’s infamous joke about “CP Time.”

He is the son of rancher Cliven Bundy, who was the central figure in the 2014 Bundy standoff regarding unpaid grazing fees on federally-owned public land. Paul McCowns walked into an Ohio bank clutching his first paycheck from a new job at an electric company. But instead of cashing the check worth about $1,000, the teller called 911.

As he walked out of the Huntington Bank branch in Brooklyn empty-handed, an officer waiting outside handcuffed him and put him in the back of a police cruiser.

"I have a customer here -- he's not our customer, actually. He's trying to cash a check and the check is fraudulent. It does not match our records," a bank employee says on a recording.

No police reform without union reform
    https://www.spiked-online.com/20…

Tl;dr -- Police unions have monopoly on providing municipalities
police services. In each contract the unions prescribe conditions to guarantee impunity for their cops.

And these are not just unions, but borderline masonic orders of knighthood:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fr…
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Po…

"Police-union watchdog and advocacy group Campaign Zero lists six key ways that police unions prevent meaningful police reform through the collective bargaining agreements they negotiate for their members:

    – Disqualifying misconduct complaints that are submitted too many days after an incident occurs or if an investigation takes too long to complete.
    – Preventing police officers from being interrogated immediately after being involved in an incident or otherwise restricting how, when, or where they can be interrogated.
    – Giving officers access to information that civilians do not get prior to being interrogated.
    – Requiring cities pay costs related to police misconduct, including giving officers paid leave while under investigation, paying legal fees and/or the cost of settlements.
    – Preventing information on past misconduct investigations from being recorded or retained in an officer’s personnel file.
    – Limiting disciplinary consequences for officers or limiting the capacity of civilian oversight structures and/or the media to hold police accountable."

In America the police is a corporate organization, which by virtue of laws, insurance, lawsuits, occupational hazard, workplace injuries etc, will do everything to save its ass from the court.

There won't be any reforms for this exact reason: you cannot disassemble an automatic assault rifle and use the same details to put together a sewing machine.

Add to the fact that there is a violence culture in the country and half of the people are carrying guns, there other half are ghetto gangs -- there simply cannot exist a different police.

    • those "ghetto gangs" you refer to are a result of the assault on black communities in the 60s by police.imbecile

"Affluent white communities already live in a world where they choose to fund youth, health, housing, etc. more than they fund police. These communities have lower crime rates not because they have more police, but because they have more resources to support healthy society in a way that reduces crime.

When a teenager or preteen does something harmful in a suburb (I say teen because this is often where lifelong carceral cycles begin for Black and Brown communities), White communities bend over backwards to find alternatives to incarceration for their loved ones to "protect their future," like community service or rehab or restorative measures. Why don't we treat Black and Brown people the same way? Why doesn't the criminal system care about Black teens' futures? Why doesn't the news use Black people's graduation or family photos in stories the way they do when they cover White people (eg. Brock Turner) who commit harmful crimes? Affluent White suburbs also design their own lives so that they walk through the world without having much interruption or interaction with police at all, aside from community events and speeding tickets (and many of these communities try to reduce those, too!)

Just starting THERE would be a dramatically and radically different world than what we are experiencing now"

Unfortunately, their slogan is way simplified.

    • This is an American movement. Why would BLM protests extend to a completely separate issue entirely? Fucking idiot.monospaced

An article about how liberals, accused of insufficient orthodoxy, lose their jobs.
Tl;dr -- criticism of violent protests is criticism against black people, which is not only racist, but also unsafe to your coworkers. The colleagues of the accused of riot-blasphemy are writing letters of complaints to human resources because their racist coworker poses a threat to safety etc
Don't discuss this stuff at work, just in case.

History revision, "cleaning the ranks" and the end result of this public psychosis will be a descent into anti-nazi fascism, if thats a thing

    • Which will spill over into a new civil war, these guys are waiting:

The goal of BLM is that Black Lives Matter and they are disproportionately subjected to police brutality and tougher sentences and there is systemic racism that affects people getting loans, buying homes, getting jobs, etc.

White people have enjoyed greater economic success as a result of this policing and various policies and slavery.

The goal is to level the playing field and give black people the same opportunities white people have enjoyed since this country was founded.

That's why people say "silence = violence" because if black people are not included or organizations are primarily white, people of color's voices are not heard and implicit biases and systemic problems continue, whether people mean for them to or not.

    • Yes.monospaced
    • ugh but that's not true. its a over broad generalization. ie white people have enjoyed greater economic success as a result of policingdeathboy
    • only in as much as police helped protect property. police didnt stop black hedgefund mergers or corporate takeovers.deathboy
    • slavery for sure. free labor wasn't free with food and housing. but helped wealth. without a doubt treating black people as property wasdeathboy
    • wrong. it as those times, not now. if you think china factories that provide room and board to work 60+ a week minimal wages. Willingly. Its not very differentdeathboy
    • opportunities are all equal. if you deny why? i think jsut looking for "special" opportunities or rights.deathboy
    • people are stupid creatures. even to today its popularly held minimum wage laws are a good thing, although it hurts blacks far more and keeps them out ofdeathboy
    • labor. It is in my opinion a shit ton of nonsense being peddled by youre masters. Flaming you for their own political aims and gains.deathboy
    • antifa and blm, only thing unites them is anti-trump rhetoric. enemy of my enemy and both being manipulated by the ppl who really despise freedom and love powerdeathboy
