https://twitter.com/…Bluejam - Carbon offsetting is a con, doesn't solve any of the real problems and just allows polluters to keep pollutin'BarryEvans
- @Bluejam
That is not the same guy.palimpsest - @BarryEvans
Carbon offsetting is the only viable solution. It's possible to offset all CO2 emissions and the way to do it is through crypto.palimpsest - ah my bad ... although does that mean twice the bullshit?Bluejam
- I we all pull together and ride Bitcoin to Saturn a handful of Bitcoin could offset all the world's pollution. NFTs are helping us get there.palimpsest
- We get to keep our current lifestyle while improving the economy. It's a win, win, win situation.palimpsest
- These are the Winklevoss brothers, the idiots duped by Zuckerberg when starting Facebook, they got into crypto, not the brightest cookies around as you can seegrafician
- Crypto is the solution, not the problem:

- Carbon offsetting is like robbing a store and paying someone else to go to jailscarabin
- Nobody goes to jail with carbon offsetting. It's more like raping someone but paying for the abortion.
No harm no foul.palimpsest - lol. except someone got raped?scarabin
- Exactly.palimpsest
- Oh I get it now! The more we invest in NFts /crypto the faster we will reverse global warming. It was right their staring at me the whole timeGnash

This NFT environmental thing is making me crazy.
Everyone is basing their opinion on ONE article that this guy Memo Atken wrote that paints a horrible picture. He is just a technologist, an artist, doing some calculations...good for him,,,,but he is not the only voice. He sounds authoritative. But from what I have read, while he raises legitimate issues, he also makes a lot of assumptions, and has caused digital artists to lose their minds. The press uses him as a gospel source.
To decide an issue you need multiple sources.
This is a headline on MSNBC: Bitcoin, NFTs and other crypto fads are destroying our planet
What the fuck. Destroying our planet?
I have read a number of things about this and I do not believe that anyone REALLY KNOWS.....it is complex....like immigration or free speech.....many many parts to it, factors to weigh.
I have read multiple sources say that the NFTs dont even affect the blockchain at all....the blockchain has the same activity....this what the Super Rare piece says - they did not make that up. And Super Rare is not Google...they are a relatively small company...
Plus EVERYONE KNOWS that ethereum and bitcoin have an energy issue. Ethereum is fixing that problem and from what I just read this afternoon by summer it will be 100x more efficient and within a year 10,000 time more efficient
But some artists act like creating an NFT is like clubbing a baby seal to death in front of its mother and if you do it you are a horrible person....

- since you made an appearance i know nothing good will come of this, so good nightdkoblesky
- There are multiple sources indeed, but it seems that you are picking the only ones that makes the whole NFT narrative look good?Fabricio
- I am being critical honestly, and I'm doing almos weekly research about it, since now even my clients are asking for me to jump in, and Im saying no no no....Fabricio
- But yeah, it is a complex matter, and it seems people are choosing which side to "believe" just so they can continue to sell their NFT's in peace.Fabricio
- Proof-of-Work calculations only scale to consume available capacity. GPUs used for for Ethereum alone could drive 1000x's of Pixar's 24,000 core render farmjonny_quest_lives
- Instead the Ethereum blockchain uses them to validate basic arithmetic. Then charges users $50-175 to execute that basic arithmetic.jonny_quest_lives
- @dkoblesky why did you get into this without fully understanding it? Have you even sold anything?grafician

- the way u use number is embarrrising for every scientist, 10.000 more efficient means shit if its still toxic as fuck... everything for money right? i wonderneverscared
- why thye use the fire icon for every drop.. is that referencing for the co2 emissions its generating which are generating the wildfires...might be that obvious.neverscared
- maybe u can also post from which articles u have your numbers - the efficiency stuff
....otherwise it´s impossible to factcheck: thanks. do think it´s an econeverscared - friendly hustle dkoblesky ?neverscared

Here you go, a website to see what other artists are doing #cleanNFTs including Jon Burgerman
https://hashquine.github.io/hice…
Also the official twitter account promotes new artworks ongoing:
https://twitter.com/hicetnunc200…More about Tezos (PoS network): https://coinmarketcap.com/curren… it goes around $3-4 but for selling #cleanNFTs it's all profit as you don't need to pay for high "gas" fees
Good luck doing #cleanNFTs and ffsake leave some lambos for us!

This is a long talk on NFT's and music. It explained a lot about the possibilities and the artist 3LAU who has sold a bunch of stuff.
It is still shocking what people are paying for copies of digital art, especially for musicians who have been ripped off since year dot and the Napster/streaming revolution.
- First of all who tf is this 3LAU? lol
Second, the point of selling music is pushing volume, streams, etc.
Who tf cares if unknown DJs make millionsgrafician - 3lau's career is built on viral marketing, he's been involved with a ton of crypto stuff building his own brand on the hype. pretty terrible example tbhkingsteven
- he touches twice on the fact that there's still contracts at the point of minting and rights distribution with NFTs but squirms away from the fact that thatskingsteven
- where most artists get screwed and why we have such a convoluted method of royalty collection atm, the rights organisations and unions exist for a reasonkingsteven
