so let me get this straight, the administration wants to have putin tried for war crimes due to photos out of ukraine, but wants to have assange tried for video of us war crimes out of iraq?
love it
- you're right. let's not tried putin for war crime then.pango
- Either with US or against US.BabySnakes
- i'm not saying don't try putin, i'm just saying the US propaganda is at full tilt right nowcolin_s
- You’re not wrong, colin. But that doesn’t make Russian war crimes and rapes right.NBQ00
- who the fuck is saying it is 'right'. pointing out the double-standards of the US/UK etc. tubthumping doesn't suddenly make you a Russian war crime cheerleader.face_melter
- Where was the outrage over Assange all the years and months before here. Why point out now when Russians are raping teen girls and executing civiliansNBQ00
- And Zalensky wants Russia chucked out of the Security Council. Someone needs to erase that little shit, pronto.********
- The interests of the corrupt Ukie oligarchy is not the hill I want to die on.********
- There are 15-13ish evidence types, most of these require some time. Digital evidence is just one of the many, most of you only have access to that...lolsted
- So let me get this straight:
putin will be tried for war crimes due to shittons of evidence.sted - no, brabo. somebody needs to erase you off this site you Z-scumNBQ00
- @sted Unfortunately, I highly, highly doubt Putin will be tried for anything. Even if an international warrant goes out for his arrest, no one can touch him.Continuity
- It's not like Nato/the US can send in troops to Moscow to fish the fucker out.Continuity
- Assange isn't being prosecuted for "revealing war crimes." The USA is attempting to prosecute him (still hasn't been extradited yet and unclear ifyuekit
- the case will stand up if he is) for revealing classified information and allegedly helping hack that info.yuekit
- looks like colin still hasn't learned how to put down the internetkaiyohtee
- @Continuity yep, and since these things don't have an expiration date he needs to stay in power until he dies.sted

- fuck off brabo, how much of a cunt do you have to be to say such a thing?NBQ00
- you're such a fucking scumbag, unbelievableNBQ00
- wow Brabo, I always imagine how much people must hate you in real life too, and I always conclude it's VERY, VERY much. your mother must be proud.gattocerber

- What did he do? I don't see anything from him. Were his comments expunged with his QBN existence?CyBrainX
- Good. That comment made me think I'd not want to spend any more time on QBN, and I have a fairly high tolerance for shitheadedry.Nairn
- ..like, I just ignore it, but that was just nasty.

Russia is now promoting this guy Scott Ritter as a "respected American military expert", ignoring the minor detail that he's a twice convicted child predator.
- they probably have no better choice atm.
Good journalists like Chris Hedges are getting taken off the western media because they worked for russian mediauan - The disturbing stuff aside that NYT article is actually very well-written, documenting someone's rise to fame and then total self-destruction.yuekit
- they probably have no better choice atm.

- Impressive results, those sanctions ...Continuity
- wasn't this RU central bank propping it up? besides EU needs to get off their gas-imports asap.NBQ00
- yes, they made all the Russian companies exchange their euros and dollars to rubles so now the ruble got a boost
Short lived, for suregrafician - < i mean it's artificial boost, it's not based on real economicsgrafician
- does it mean they were prepared for this and their strategy works?uan
- no, this means rubble is now like crypto = artificially inflated with no real use
nobody is accepting rubbles for anything
xcept, probably India and Chynagrafician - actualy inflation in Russia rn is around 200%grafician

"Is this how Russia ends?
An interview with the writer Masha Gessen about why Putin might dare a nuclear strike on Poland, what democratic leaders don’t grasp that authoritarians do, and what Russia might look like after Putin"
- So they don’t mind nukes on Moscow and whole of Russia then?NBQ00
- It’s hard to tell what is fear porn and what is reality these days.Chimp
- That is a genuinely depressing interview.Continuity
- It's ok, Continuity - putinists will tell you Gessen's not a genuine Russian, so has no legitimacy, so it's all entirely bullshit.Nairn
- Ha! Well, quite.
Still, everything he says — particularly about Putin daring a nuke strike — is a direct reflection of my worst fears in all this.Continuity - what Chimp saidsted

Those mobile crematoriums Russia had that we saw at the start of their attacks - we thought to be used to hide casualty evidence - instead to be used to erase evidence of their vulgar terrorism against the innocent population of Ukraine.
Seems like a mobile form of 1940's style holocaust?
How long do the UN, Nato, West wait before they do something harsher than a couple of slaps on the wrists of the Russian's rich?
- i haven´t seen it ... have a link where they show that from the start of the invasion ?neverscared

If just some of the footage out there is legit, it seems the one area of logistics in which the Russians do have skills is the theft, packaging and transportation of anything that isn't bolted down. Fucking outrageous.

The EU has given a total of $1 billion in assistance to Ukraine and $35 billion to Russia (in the form of oil and gas purchase) during the conflict so far
- can idiots stop with this shit?!
not everything can be done overnight
we're getting there and it will be permanent
the high prices and inflation too!grafician - Germany has been writing Moscow a weekly paycheck for over a billion for a long time. Current estimates of their Russian oil purchases are about 220m per day.garbage
- not to mention probably a lot of that gas is going into industries - yes to make the cars and equipment you actually ask for and need.grafician
- Cut that, factories go bust, unemployment jumps
The world is very complex, stop with the simplist mind views
fucking moronsgrafician - oh and to make it clear, Russia can't resupply without machinery/tech from Germany and EU! so yeah, they get 35B but no, not rearming with itgrafician
- Russian mil budget was 60-80B per year for decades. Almost all of that was stolen by insiders. We're lucky for that, that their military is crap and not moderngrafician
- Germany nationalised Gazprom Germania so they can still pay in euros and not rubbles - paying in rubbles is actually helping Russiagrafician
- So they get 35B euros but can't really use it, as they are sanctioned. But getting rubbles can actually use those rubbles to pay for stuff from India, Chyna etcgrafician
- So far in Europe, only Hungary promised to pay in rubles if askedgrafician
- You're right it's not a simple issue. But if you read the article, this is being said by EU's own leadership.yuekit
- they need to say some stuff to make it official and not speculation, like write it down and make official policy and stuff
ppl have no clue about politicsgrafician - and that guy is an idiot
it's easy to pay for gas, it's very hard to actually manufacture and ship 1B euros worth of weapons!
like I said: MORONSgrafician - probably he will be punched in the face by some generals and or the economy ministersgrafician
- can idiots stop with this shit?!

"The BND intercepts suggest that these were neither random acts nor the actions of individual soldiers who got out of hand. Rather, the material reportedly suggests that the soldiers were talking about the atrocities as if they were talking about their everyday lives.
""These BND findings indicate that killings of civilians have become part of the Russian military's usual actions, according to Berlin sources, possibly part of a clear strategy [to] spread fear and terror among the civilian population and to stifle resistance.
@derspiegel""The material is also said to show that members of Russian mercenary troops such as "Wagner Group" were significantly involved in the atrocities. The latter had already attracted attention for their particular cruelty during their deployment in Syria."
