Bothers me only a little because just imagine what you could create with the platform and resources that they have. It could be so good with really not too much work...
We do live in clown world though and I'm more and more every day bewildered by the idiocy of my species, so I can't say I'm completely surprised.

Windows is predominately built and designed for Hilary, senior administrator at a local government office, aged 53, two children, a cat and used to have a dog but it died.

She did an evening course in learning how to use a PC and the World Wide Web back in the mid 90's.
She is... the target audience of Windows.
Microsofts sole mission is to not upset Hilary - any novel UI/UX change that would make things easier in theory, but alien to stuck in her ways Hilary - must be avoided. Microsoft can not be guilty of rising her blood pressure due to a clear to read font that she 'just isn't used to' as she's already on a fairly high does of statins.

How in the year of ipads and touchscreens and android OS is thing even accepted by humans? I mean really... HITULF
I've used macs for twenty years but I'm in another part of the country without my macbook and need to do some spur of the moment design work. It was either £999 for a macbook or £499 for a huawei matebook with the same specs. The huawei looked nice, got good reviews and plus I could get the it delivered to the argos round the corner from me the same day so I bought it.
The last time I tried windows properly was probably XP although I used the new square block type windows OS on a nokia tablet about 5 or 6 years ago and thought it was ALRIGHT at best, certainly compared with my only other experiences with windows it certainly seemed to be moving towards something more acceptable. I'm no apple fanboy, I love mac OS but would rather have a decent android phone any day.
I assumed that by now, in 2022, the latest version of windows would surely be at least alright and would be something I could get on with. What an idiotic assumption...
Windows 11 is utter nonsense and is hardly any different to the god awful experience that I always knew windows as. How the almighty feck does windows still render fonts so badly? Like it did in 1999!? Even after going through the cleartype options it's still TERRIBLE. Fonts look terrible, everywhere... I can only laugh in bewilderment. Honestly I cannot fathom how windows hasn't progressed. Bizarre.
Shortcuts are still a mess, all over the keyboard, not set in comfortable positions, no way to change any of it. Nothing works smoothly, seems to pick up phantom commands constantly. Photoshop is almost unusable, the canvas will fly off screen, it'll drag a layer off somewhere when I'm simply hovering over it, shortcuts only seem to work half the time.
Honestly I'm gobsmacked at how terrible it is... but it's also not such a surprise in that it's exactly how I remember windows to be all those years ago. What have they been doing for twenty years!? hahaha
It's a shame because the hardware is great. This huawei matebook is really lovely. I just wish I could run a decent OS on it. I'd love to run linux but need to use Adobe CC so I'm stuck trying to get used to this windows shit-wind.
I've come to the conclusion that any serious person who has used mac or linux and still prefers and defends windows is clearly an NPC void of consciousness or independent thought.
What say you, qbn peasants? Am I doing it wrong?
