Why can't we skip this accessory stage and right to implants?

I'm really skeptical about this thing, but as with the iPhone most people knew that was the next logical step from the iPod and they truly surprised everyone when it came out.

@Wolfboy - yeah, I get that they want control content distribution, but from what I read, the chances of them taking deals away from Cable is pretty slim. As Netflix is discovering, paying for content is a massive expense and unpredicatable.
Unless Apple wants to become a content creator, which they may have to do, give Google/YouTube, etc., they will be stuck getting deals done for the content.
According to the ever reliable Wallstreet analysts, this would simply be too expensive and Apple would never gain the leverage they need to be profitable enough.
iTunes? No way. I avoid it like the plague and can't wait to trade my iPhone and iPads in for Window's machines (next upgrades). But what do I know. Am glad that I own Google over Apple, though. ;-)

The watch should be a wifi hotspot as well.

I'm excited to see how are they going to build the marketing campaign to convince all of us on why we should start wearing watches again.
That is what is ultimately going to break or make this release.
Why, if I'm carrying a phone that I can ask to (while looking like a total dbag) tell me the time, I should consider putting another device on my wrist. This is what we've become. and they are probably posting things like 'having an amazing lunch with my friends'

You know what's going to be make or break for this? Headphones. Nobody will want a wire running from their head to their wrist. Asking people to wear this may be asking them to give up their music.
- bluetooth is the answer, or, the watch will be a remote for the cumbersome iphone in your pocket & you dick tracy thru ur playlistsprophetone

- perhaps we should consider Apple isn't making a watch and they already thought of thismonospaced

The thing with Apple is that they'll need to succeed on such matters otherwise they will be "doomed" and their stock will drop. Where as MS, Google, Samsung etc. seem to throw all sorts of shit at the wall to see what sticks.

- How's that? Apple doesn't have a spotless record any more than MS or Nintendo or Sony do.i_monk
- with steve jobs they pretty much did. especially the last 10 years.rosem
- You've got some rosey glasses there. http://www.infoworld…i_monk
- Rosy or not. This remains true. People expect more of them to manipulate the stock price.monospaced

Apple has been moving into lifestyle instead of technology for years, this is just the next lame step
