I bought this Burton AK jacket last year but even though it says it's GORE TEX it still doesn't repeal water well enough...

Not expensive, but definitely dependable. I took one of their rain jackets to Peru for two weeks during their wet season, and stayed toasty the whole time. I don't see the model i have, but their current stuff looks good.,

Was worth the expensive price tag at the time, now it's £100 less at £140. Keeps you dry and you can hid the tail so works as a normal jacket.

Some water resistant jackets are almost as non-breathing as a proper rain shell. Look for one without any rubbery coating on the inside of the fabric. A brushed lining can make a big difference, ie:my fav jacket in the whole world, I wear it everywhere. My fiancee hates it =D

It rains hard sometimes so I would need something 100% waterproof. I got these water ressistent jackets that makes my shirts inside wet. Longbacks i'd like to stay away from because I also want to wear them when i'm out and about. I don't want something hanging down my ass.

for biking, you want a thin windshell (no membrane) for 90% of the time. Those will actually breathe. They'll have a water repellent coating to bead water up on the surface. generally good for 20-30mins in moderate rain. Here are two nice examples:

http://www.raceface.com/apparel/…After that, you want a cheap, compact rain barrier. could be a .99c plastic poncho, could be a $100 rain jacket, but even the $500 ones don't really breathe when active. You won't wear it much, so don't spend a lot here. (I live in vancouver and hardly ever wear a fully waterproof jacket for my 20min commute) The Marmot Mica looks like a good choice. The Precip would work too.
Same idea goes for pants. And fenders are an must

that's the problem with those coat. i've got one that is supposed to "breathe" but when i bike with it, all the sweat stays inside and it become VERY wet.

Will these work for biking? I don't want to get sweaty in it.
