that's why I am with Chomsky in that he advocates having a drafted military instead of our current privatized military.
having a draft would in effect enable people to vote on whether we go to war or not. all the arm chair generals would think twice becasue it would be their asses at risk.

why not disarming USA? they also have weapons of mass destruction...
this is one thing I never understood..
and Korea shows clearly that has nuclear resources and still without any invasion threats ....I fear for you~, fellow Americans.
and sorry if my perception of this sounds uninformed.. i just don't care.

Toolius,
There are plenty of jingo-indoctrinated young gung-ho men who are happy to kill for Bush's world vision. Apparently they are happy to come home in body bags as well.

i live in america! and was born in oklahoma! Americans are egotistical and idealistic. This war is rediculious! we should focus more on building the world up and less on ourselves. If we truely want to make the world a peaceful place, then maybe we should focus more on diplomacy and stop focusing on currency. if we helped other countries like mexico out; then maybe people will stop dying to get across the border and be able to live in their home countries and survive....anyway diplomacy not currency!

of course there are... they get paid to go out and "serve US interests" you need not feel sorry for them. they get paid. they are like our police force making sure that our upper class's assets are protected.

At least we know that the Iraqi's don't have a mineshaft advantage over us.
That would spell certain doom.

wrek2 that's very admirable and quite in line with the way the US markets itself to the world... you know, the defenders of freedom and human rights etc... but seriously. those goals are full against our national interests. what if we helped build up the rest of the world? that's our competition!
what I'm saying is, let's just be honest. fuck it . we're an imperialist nation. lets stop pretending like we care about human rights. I mean our track record shows it! why not just admit it. I think the world would appreciate our honesty.

agreed libabyarm! Why the pretense? If you presented to people like: You want your SUV's, entertainment centers, disposable everything??? well this is the price...
- wrek220
oh yes you are very right.. admittance would be the second step though! first you have to educate the masses through a press syndacite that will dig for the whole truth and not just what the government tells them to say...
Also for you here in the US if you believe in this war so much then why are you not going to fight it? Because we have a huge millitary and you dont need to? Well then explain to me why our huge millitaty you so love and are behind is primartly made up of first and second generation hispanics? Ill tell you why! so our cracker-asses can live and prosper on the lives of other cultures.
I f you have a virus you do all you can to get rid of it.. Irag is the virus and oil is the host.

the us spends millions of dollars a year helping other countries - and if the us economy was not damped by 911 type attacks then it would probally spend more - dealing with his shit is importnant and if it goes to war then its because of iraq not the usa - is this was not an issue then the diss arm law would of not been passed years ago by the un -
if the usa does not disarm them and 5 years from now a chemical explosiong goes off in your town then you people will be the ones crying bush and usa should of done something when they had the chance
you think he would not go that far - he doe not test his chemcials on thousands of his own people for the hell of it -

I mean don't get me wrong... I think if we come clean a lot of things would change. I think people have an instinct for fairness... Also, it's not just hispanics that are in the military, I would rather classify the paid military as the lower class. I mean there are lower class blacks, caucasians, hispanics mostly...

Oh and by the way, I am proud to live here in the US! I am fortunate enough to have a great job and be able to vote and voice my oppinions! I wouldnt want to live anywhere else. opportunities are endless here.. I just dont agree with the US's diplomatic stance at this moment.. I believe in one free world for all!
The Iraqi people deserve there freedom. but they are to scared to speak out. I agree with a regime change, but only for the Iraqi people!

the usa does what it needs to cover and protect its ass - call it what you want - the has does becasue it can - and any other nation, company person whatever would too if it could - thats lif - the usa did not make it that way - its been that way since day one - and their are other nations out their doing the same - but the usa makes national hadlines no matter what it does making it easy for people to 2nd guess and try to figure out what the usa really is -
- vgee0
i hers u 22 - hopefully if we go to war the iraq people will step up and run their country through freedom - but unfortunatly they need someone to put them in that postion to do so -

Vgee,
"Son, all I've ever asked of my marines is that they obey my orders as they would the word of God. We are here to help the Vietnamese, because inside every gook there is an American trying to get out. It's a hardballworld, son. We've gotta keep our heads until this peace craze blows over."
-COLONEL "Full Metal Jacket"Just replace "gook" with "towel head"

What about N. Korea? Why do we bully N. Korea, so what if they've restructered theres nuclear weapons program and have been began making weapons grade heavy water. Who cares if there leader is some deranged obessed dictator, Whose likely to drop a few nukes on south korea the first chance he gets. LESS BOMBS MORE RICE. We must all join hands and sing songs of praise for N. Korea. We can not let our goverments go to war with them, even if they are arming themselves to go to war with us.
Come on guys, MORE HUGS. We can fight bombs with love.

see the US has recently imposed a fuel embargo on NK. The are desperate for energy so they are going to reactivate their nuclear reactors to make up for the feul shipment withholdings. they are being forced to find other energy sources.
people seem to forget the scenario... if Iraq or NK were to attack us it would be OVER for them. are they going to commit suicide? hmmm... maybe.
