This afternoon I had to try-out two kids to get a spot on the soccer team that I coach. It's nothing prestigious at all, but we play 7v7 and I don't need a 20 kid bench where every parent wants to see their kid play. About half-way thru I realized that my wedding ring wasn't on my finger. It was about 36F (2C) and I've lost weight since I was married back in 2010. My ring slides around pretty easily now and when it's cold my fingers seem to shrink.
I'm near the end of our try-out when I realize my ring is gone and immediately start scanning the ground (turf field) for my ring. Nothing. I even get the parents of one of the boys I was trying out to look. But then I thought about how earlier this morning I was transferring some logs from my "wood pile" into my custom built "wood storage shed" wearing some gloves and was hopeful that my ring was in my glove. It was and all is good with my world.I realized that I'm old school and I still like wearing my wedding ring and all that it means to me and my sweet wife. Totally get it if that's not your style, but I'm just really glad that I didn't lose my ring today.

I made the perfect amount of food tonight for dinner, for 2½ people.
My partner looked at what came out of the oven and pans with withering irritation and made sure to comment that I'd not cooked enough.
I've become a bit irritated by how much otherwise ok food goes into the bio recycling bin thing each day. And believe me, we jar up every last morsel otherwise for reheating where we can, but still.
I had it absolutely perfect. There's a half sprig of broccoli and a shard of potato left. Everything else gone.
Do I get any credit here? Do I fuck. Quite the opposite.

Saw a Youtube video about a bodybuilder who purees his food in a blender because he is tired of chewing. I decided to try the same
I mixed together chicken patties and cooked pasta in my Vitamix Explorian 310. For it to be fluid enough I had to use 1 liter of water, so I ended up with about 2 liters of dinner in total (1/2 gallon).
I don't know if it because it was still lukewarm, it tasted like it has already been in my stomach, and when I think about it, the upper part of your digestive system is exactly this -- a blender, so all associations with vomit were there. Gagged through the first liter and had to throw the rest away, absolutely horrible experience, would not recommend
After some reading it turns out that when you chew your food it makes your body excrete saliva and stomach juice, which both aid digestion

Haven’t been on here in so long. Seeing names I remember from years back. And looking at old posts. I still remember first hearing about this site (newstoday) from a design magazine out of Toronto called Shift. That was about 20 years ago. Impressed it’s still here even though under a different name. At the time I had just finished college. My first job was a webmaster at a company in Vaughan. I think they were paying me about $30,000 a year to up keep their websites and make emails for their mailing list. The pay was awful and the work wasn’t much better but I guess I was happy to be a designer. Newstoday was a good distraction at the time. I’m sure there’s a few of you from that time still on here, as I say I see some familiar-ish names. And hey we’re not dead yet. Have a nice Sunday.
