thunder and lightning outside. i got the dt's and i haven't sat down in three days. my mind is numb and cigarettes are the only thing preventing my hands from shaking. i read the text but nothing sinks in. the printer hums away, but what did i print? seven days to go and i'm outta time. i'd throw up but if that didn't work then i'd be outta solutions. flies in the kitchen smacking the window. dishes teetering on destruction. wires sway the ground is shaking the coffee is burning the butter is melting the plaster is cracking the bolts are bending the nails are rusting it's quiet not calm. finding myself lonely.
i may go get a snack.

i've got to remember to give Gorbie a raspberry on the forehead next time i drive over the mountain. Which, by the way, may be soon because i'm sending a job over to a printer over there.

I keep thinking if we could just, like in Brazil or the Philippines... the workings of an entire society based on dream interpretation.
Not TRY anything.
I think I’d be much happier that way.
If you could attain the ideal vibrational state... I’m thinking of that ice you get toward the end of winter. Little piles left over from the piles that melted. Inert little piles that just hang around.
In this state, ideally, one could absorb any number of blows to the face.

I'd love to meet Mayo and Gorb for a drink. It would almost be worth heading to Sac for. But it could be weird, too. I'd probably be self-conscious.

I overheard someone today relating an embarassing tale of vulnerability. They were distressed that they had let their guard down for a moment and revealed what lies behind the mask-exposed themself, as it were, and were met with awkward silence. It seemed to them that the act of revelation was not the most painful part of the experience but rather it was in that silence, that awkward silence which followed.
Awkward silence. Awkward. Look at the word. Take a pen and pad and write it down. No matter how you write it, spell it, pict-o-gram it. It never looks quite right. Face it, awkward is an awkward word. It looks awkward, it sounds awkward, it is awkward. When coupled with silence, it can shrivel the mightiest man, slay the confident, and banish to the shadows the meek and miserable. Awkward silence is reserved as a gift you don't wish to receive.

havent been wasted in months, tonight i may celebrate a slight leak in my more than busy schedule, 18 hour days fall short on both my brain and body, im starting to feel the wear of a consistent grind. although i feel better and more confident than i ever have, with regards to work and my life i still have this sensation of failure, i think that is key reason i push myself, i feel if i let my world slip out of sync, and forget about details, ill be chasing the illusive dragon for eternity, playing catch up... some late nights while illustrating, i have discovered some mathematical equations that almost made me shit my pants, for instance, currently i am drawing a unicorns profile, built simply from math, and have noticed that in my work my approach is more of a deconstructionist standpoint instead of trying to add elements to make them fit... while working on a section of the illustration, i rotated a path to see that its ending point had fell exactly on an anchor of a circle, which the circle was already anchoring... little things in life make me smile the most

I would totally be down for having drinks with Rand and Gorbie (again). But Rand's ass won't fly over here. >:(

Top Ten things To Be Happy About in March of 2005:
1. We're visiting Arizona next week. Gonna see my mum again. Gonna see the first game of the season - Cubs vs. Dbacks.
2. This update has produced positive reactions way beyond my wildest expectations. I don't feel that I am anything special, but I am happy to make a living from doing what I love.
3. He's in his last quarter now. His portfolio is going to be dynamite. I'm so proud.
4. We played tennis today for a few minutes. I am a TERRIBLE athlete, for the record, but it was fun to laugh at myself.
5. My hair is getting longer & starting to curl again from the humidity. Oh well. At least I have hair.
6. The move is coming up so quickly. I am positive we'll find a nice big place in time. I may go visit and ultimately may make the final decisions.
7. My poor sister is finally doing better.
8. Life is so much easier when you've figured out who you are, or are on the road to...
9. I heard a great quote by my good friend, Josh - "You have to understand the rules before you break them." (Applies awesomely to practically every situation.)
10. We got to go to all the parks while I gave the workshop in Orlando. We fell in love with Epcot. Science & culture are so freaking cool! We didn't even have to pay. I'm so happy we got to spend some time alone. We are the biggest idiots together!

It's nice to read about how well other people are doing sometimes, and how happy they are in life.

It's nice to not be filled with an inexplicable bitterness reading about how well other people are doing sometimes, and how happy they are in life.
