Last time I went in the US, people we're nice, I loved it.
Sometimes the picture I get from tv stations & other medias : Looks like a country populated with a lot of religious-fanatics with guns.
But yeah.. most of the time I just don't care.

I live in Canada since 2001, I came just before 9/11. I find that Canadian culture it has his proud on diversity. There is less racism here but there is a division between quebec province and the rest of canada, and the first nations with a lot f social problems.
It is a beautiful place, I can call it home.

J'aime bien montreal. dans le rest du Canada c'est difficile de trouver de gens qui parle francais, mais au quebec je trouve que il y a une grande influence americaine quand meme...
- Whaaat? they speak French there? But I thought it was just like, an extension of America!!thelukeandrews

I was born in the U.S. and moved to canada when I was in my early teens, then moved back to the U.S. Through my experience, americans and canadians are more commonly alike then any other two nations-- and not just the speach.
The education is the same, so americans aren't any more intelligent.
Canadians sertanly are not any less arrogant.
Both countries like to poke fun at the other, and each get equally as offended.
aswell both countries rely on each other for trading, and most people in canada and U.S. don't realy despise one another.

unfortunately for you, Americans are the biggest users of youtube. Thus, there are more american redneck idiots being posted of youtube. Thus, the world thinks that Americans are a bunch of redneck idiots.
....and it's kinda arrogant to assume that canadians just fit into your culture without any questions.

also, as massive as america may be, I've seen more canadians on my worldly travels than americans. This means two things: one, americans are too lazy to travel, and two: a lot of americans say they're canadians because people in general are nicer them. No point here, just an observation

Two random observations: on my last trip to Canada from the States the Canadaian border guard took a cursory glance at my passport and said "have a nice visit". On the return trip the American border guard spent fifteen minutes asking me and my wife questions. I didnt't even get a "welcome backto the USA." Secondly, Celine Dion is a Canadian whore.

living in MX, we have a beach house not too far from Mazatlan where a lot of Canadians stay (RV park) most of them I talked to really dislike Americans.

I'm a Canadian(born in England, though), but have spent ample time in the States and love it. My parents moved to the States when I was 18.
Well, Michigan and Florida are shithole states, but a lot of middle America is. I love San Fran, Chicago, New York, Las Vegas, Boston , Austin, Houston and Seattle. New Orleans was fantastic too.
On a whole, Americans are good people and I've rarely met one that I can't stand. Annoying? Yes(Just go to Dallas). There are annoying cunts here too, we call them Quebecors (J/K, I love you guys too).

If you have a blanket dislike for residents of another country, you are, without question, a dipshit.

My question for you "Iggyboo", is if you got dissed by one person from canada, why would you put this question on Canadian people in general. You must have either already thought of us in a different manner, or heard alot from other americans.
To answer your question, no we don't all dislike americans.

He didn't say "people of".
"I'd like to know from you Canadians out there the unbiased point of view of what Canadians think of America."

Our views of the U.S. are heavily influenced by your media and politics... some of which we disagree with. However, many of us know that the average, everyday American is typically a decent person with the same concerns and struggles as we have.
I'll be honest though, nice or not, the stereotype of the average US citizen being less aware of the world outside their borders seems accurate based on my travels down there.
A quick example, I know the geography of the US pretty well, but when an American asks where I am from, the only way they understand it is to tell them what state(s) are below the province.

A sad fact of life, most Americans are stupid.
