The worst company I ever worked for was Enterprise IG. I was dropped in there under cover of being a freelance designer to surrepticiously get a feel for the place because they were going to freeze one of their creative directors out and I was going to be offered his job.
They placed me UNDER the bloke I was there to replace. He was an absolute buffoon. Really the most ridiculous parody of a 'creative genius at work' you could ever hope to enjoy. He used to attend meetings with one black leather driving glove on, and a horse's crop.
I endured two weeks of his nonsense and told them I couldn't do any more. Overall I found that place to be appalling in every way.
- ahahahaha! I remember you mentioning Enterprise IG in this way before, you must have hated them!ian
- Awful awful place.Spookytim

@ Spooktim
What I meant was not the design/advertising company who you worked for - but the actual company/brand of the job/client/project you worked on.

Off the top of my head then WDT who own Sonneti, Firetrap and Full Circle. In the transitional phase between designer and illustrator I made my living doing tee shirt graphics for various fashion labels. Sonneti was one of my clients and were teeth shatteringly frustrating.

Im not going to name names, but in my previous job the very last project I worked on (which was also what gave me the push to quit) was an annual report for a large dairy and food ingredients producer.
I came up with three separate concepts for the AR of which the marketing people wanted to see 2 done up in full (30 pages or so in each concept) so they could visualise the whole report before they would pitch the option to the board so they could commit to one design option. I had the same amount of concept time in which to basically complete both solutions and they constantly made changes but kept iterating that 'they'd know it was right when they saw it'. I was already burned out on annual reports and that was all I could take there, so found another job and handing in my notice.
Last I heard from the senior designer who took over he went to their offices with a G5 and sat there for two days doing edits to finish it off.

Did a freelance work for a girl, but as the project was close to be finished she went completely crazy... starting to call me like 10times at 1am...
asking for changes everyday on agreed things weeks before etc...
she even came at home asking me to give her the money back.

Some bint who is one of the professional dancers on that strictly come dancing or whatever it is.
I sent her an initial set of designs for a new site.
She point blank said she didn't like them (which is fine, they were first round visuals) but then said she didn't believe we could work together based on 3 jpgs and promptly sacked me off. No discussion or willingness to provide feedback and wait for ammended visuals.
Strange.

A friend of mine did work on a magazine, first issue fine, payed no problem, client a bit scattered in regards to content but not too bad.
By issue three, he was getting 90% of the content in the two days prior to going to print, they were phone him all hours expecting work done in an instant, he was on printer number three because they didnt pay their printers and he hadn't been paid. He ended up having to take them to court and he's still getting phone calls from printers tryign to chase up their debts. Fucking shower of cunts.
- Name them, oh go on, they deserve that much.Spookytim
- Actually I would love to, as they have burned their way through numerous designers and printers, but sadly...ian
- ... it was a friend of mine who did it and he never told me their name.ian
- And they were most certainly a shower of cunts.ian
- had the same thing happen to me - minus the printer stuff.Gucci

i recently had a client which i worked on their stationery for about a year and a half.
letterhead, business card and envelope.
we met every 2 weeks, which i presented about 8-14 completely different designs & concepts. she kept saying "she'd know it when she saw it"
crazy lady with too much money.
she loved everything presented. she just couldn't choose.
you'd shit if you knew how much money she spent on this.
