WTF is going on people!??
It's gone up 10p a litre while my car has been on the drive! Other countries have it so much cheaper, do we just sit and take it like a bitch? I think we do!
at least in france they had riots and something changed.
Seriously - already we are at the point where people have to consider getting a 1.1 or 1.4 because of mpg, but for people that travel to work a long way - it really starts affecting how much money you need to earn to get by.
It's so wrong. And yeah, feel free to bring up war, developing countries etc - but in the UK something is seriously corrupt about this ridiculous price increase.

the really weird thing is that the dolar is going down, making the price in euros/ pounds the same, or almost the same...
And governments are doing nothing...
maybe we should start rioting or just not going to work...
if the whole country just made a strike, I think it would be much more effective...
a "I'm feed up with being riped of by oil companies" day! or week...

There's something wrong with society when people find themselves travelling 40+ miles by car to go to work every day.
- Society/System. Whatever.detritus

- Depends what country you live in.canuck
- specially in eu. where bus, train, subway, works perfectly good.akrokdesign

Seems cheap.
The garage by my house is about £1.40 for diesel.Anyway, what do you expect? We've invaded all the oil producing countries. I wouldn't sell it to us either.
- Yeah but calculate mpg of diesel vs petrol engines, and the difference at the end of the day isn't that much.Mojo
- on avg it takes 40K miles to earn back the extra spentmaximillion_
- the countries producing the oil isnt necessarily the reason for the pump pricemaximillion_
- greedy government, and greedy corporationsMojo

i love how people think they have a right to petrol at a price of their own choosing.
- stfu! haha, just cos your gas is so cheap! in our expensive country it's directly affecting peoples living expenses - you have no idea.Mojo
- have no idea :(Mojo
- but at the same time, I do agree with you - but come on, UKers are getting RAPED for fuel prices .. sorry for the stfu ;)Mojo

its in no-ones interest except the consumer for the price to do down. the barrons, goverment and retailer all do nicely from it.
when the beeb featured this , this week a motoring journalist was asked why diesel was so expensive - the answer was simple - becuase they can.
and the "fuek prices to rise for another 8 years" is just another bullshit PR campaign from the oil companies to get us to accept the prices.
there was also a law passed after the last blockades that now make the same action an "act of terrorism"

This morning, diesel was £1.30

"there was also a law passed after the last blockades that now make the same action an "act of terrorism"
Wow.. that's so crap. We're all screwed.
It's gonna be like the old days - driving a car will be a LUXURY.

shell making £38million a day... pfff
- kelpie0
I'm not bothered if people want to riot about something they neleive in then go for it, its the folk who say "we should riot! then they'd listen!" but who probably don't even complain at bad service in macdonalds let alone attend marches who get on my wick

Petrol without tax is cheaper than bottled water
- kelpie0
you should set fire to a petrol station, that'll get your point across, or maybe spend the £3.30 on petrol it would take to douse yourself, light a match and run headlong at gordon brown at the nearest opportunity

Fucking OPEC that's what.
- trooper0
the government get 60% or whatever tax on it so while the countries economy is in decline the tax they get goes up... it would be better for the government to set a ceiling of what tax they can collect in order to dramatically lower the price of fuel.
but gordon is greedy
If you're listening Mr Conservatives, do this and youve won the next election!
- moth0
Environmentalism is kind of trendy now.
You'd better find an alternative to your car, and accept that in say - 30 years time - you will no longer be able to afford to drive it.
The price will never down. It will only go up.
- maximillion_0
and gordon also sets the price-per-mile for the luxury of using yr own car for business miles, and he's forgotten to adjust that in the last few years
