I'm glad I have a permanent residency visa for new zealand.. when the uk is completely screwed, i'll have a couple of decades before NZ catches up...
you know, because fuel cost is a good reason to emigrate. (again)

get used to it... nothing last for ever. Oil will run out. FACT.
The whole system is based on burning cheap energy. When there isnt enough the system will fail. This is just the begining. Goverments and citizens need to start pushing for alternatives.- well maybe in the meantime they can drop the tax making it affordable for thos who have to use carsmaximillion_
- more people use more petrol, raises demand, strains supply, price goes up anyway.TheBlueOne

maximillion_.
Talk to any tramp.
It's all in the covert manner in which you imbibe it.

Exactly, Moth. People seem to have forgotten that current modes of individualised transport are an unsustainable luxury, not a right - and the 'good' days are over. Until we have some paradigm shift in our energy creation and transportation, we should accept that things need to change.
That's much of the reason I've stayed in London, rather than moving back to the kinds of places I was brought up (ie. around 30 miles from 'civilisation'). I don't necessarily like it, but I accept it as the less-selfish option.

Tell me about it, it's beyond a joke, I am paying almost £1.20p for V power petrol where I live, and diesel is £1.29. Fuck this government.

I've always thought a lot of design agencies should take a real lead in letting more staff work from home a couple of days a week to help take the strain off the cost of travelling and the various eco issues associated with commuting.
There's less reason these days why people should still be expected to commute to an office 5 days a week and for a lot of people in the UK an hour each way commute is not uncommon (not sure what other people's commute is) and working more from home would be a good way to save some pennies.
I've worked remotely on a lot of projects big and small and it's easy enough even if you have to go in every now and again for briefings and updates, it's better than being there full time.
- Good idea, it'd be nice too. Probably be to many lazy twits milking it though.weave

My understand of the history's a little hazy, but haven't we spent the last 40 years exporting our North Sea crude oil assets? Who benefited from that, exactly? Where is our energy security blanket? Our future-proofing slushfund of billions (like Norway's)? Both parties, Conservative and Labour, have sold us up the river there - so its got fuck all to do with Mr Brown and co.
- i agree but brown sets the duty on the stuffmaximillion_
- no worries, you can switch to solar power. Booohahahaha..

I was coming home from me Mums the other night, spotted this wanker in another MINI Cooper at the traffic light crossing. Next thing I know he's up my inside on the left driving like a wanker just to put his cross appoint that he has a MINI too, though... his being a Diesel! PRICK!!!
My point being, it's no wonder diesel is now the same price or higher than petrol now, with tits like that wasting it driving like they stole their own cars.

I agree this is a serious problem and one that most people feel powerless to do something about. I live in the country, drive a thirsty 4x4 (and yes I do need it). I now consider whether to use the vehicle at all. I don't feel that's progress or democratic. I'm also being hit with (retrogressive) taxation for over £400 per a year car tax. They have moved the goal posts for emissions and included vehicles which they said before were exempt. This has made my vehicle virtually worthless.
The way I see it is as a further attack on people who pay their way and their tax and also have just enough capacity to afford it and continue to.
I also blame the green lobby since they have now made it impossible to travel without huge excuses for additional tax. What the green don't get is that this money is just being used to fund the government not for any worthwhile environmental causes. Sorry guys, but you played right into the governments hands and now we're all stuck with it. Thanks.
- mrdobolina0
Why do you need a 4x4?
- to give over footpaths when the traffic is to bad on the school run.mirrorball
- do you live in afghanistan?mrdobolina
- i live in the country - down a muddy lane. I also need to tow heavy things. 4x4's only wayjohnnnnyh

well if you are in for a nice riot demonstration Im all up for it. Im fucking tired of this countires push the tax payers around attitude.
People who work and pay taxes to the governemtn have all the disadvantages. its those who decide to stay at home all day dont pay shit that are better off.
And to make it better they fucking cause trouble outside me flat every night.
Fuckem both!
- That's democracy: govt pleases the ones who do nothing but are sure to vote again for their benefitsrafalski
- well I hate democracy then!Kiko
- that's why I say those who don't pay taxes, shouldn't have a right to vote.rafalski
- isnt there somer law alowing prisoners to vote?Kiko
- I don't know in the UK, in many countries they can unless their verdict suspended their public rightsrafalski

it's funny, in the US Dodge is running a big ''Let's Refuel America'' tv campaign where customers buying most Chrysler, Dodge, or Jeep vehicles can sign up for a three-year guarantee that they will pay no more than $2.99 per gallon for up to 12,000 miles worth of fuel annually.
As if $2.99 is acceptable, even attractive for a fucking gallon of gas? G T F outta here
- Mojo0
That's £1.50 a GALLON - we pay £5.22 for the same amount - so you GTF outta here! haha! blimey .. you have no idea
