What do you think mono? President Starbucks

    Ponyboy,

I few posts back you had high praise for Trump's economic policies and how they are affecting jobs, unemployment etc..

I wanted to share this article with you and see what your take on it is, since you seem to be a supporter.

Opinion: It’s official: The Trump tax cuts were a bust

Lower taxes helped goose profits and stocks, but did little for jobs or the economy

    • With some of my Trump supporting family I've sent them graphs of unemployment, and GDP with the dates cut off. None of them know where it is that Trump came in.mathinc

    • What's disappointing is that Schulz hasn't articulated a single idea about how to change things. Just bland rhetoric about how both sides are extreme.yuekit

Do you know how rich a billionaire is?

Let’s say you earn $50k/year & save every. single. penny.

After 20 years, you’d have saved $1 million.

After 200 years, you’d be dead, but would have saved $10 million.

Only after 20,000 years(!!!), would you have saved $1 billion.

Please note, this calculation is true by making the following assumptions:

    — You never pay any taxes

    — You make no investments

    — You literally never purchase any goods or services

“Clever” trolls are pointing out compounding interest, investments, & other financial mechanisms to reach $1 billion. But that wasn’t the point.

The point was to demonstrate the order of magnitude difference between a million and a billion, often overlooked or ignored by people.

    • nobody seemed to have an issue with Oprah's billions when her name was tossed around for 2020. Seems a bit disingenuous to make his $$ a mark of evilGnash

    • I said people didn't mention her billions, not that she was, or wasn't, qualified. That's a separate issue.Gnash
    • shultz's billions are being used as a signifier in a way that doesn't seem to apply to others, is all.Gnash
    • I suppose we heard different things since we come from different places. I heard tons of talk about her wealth and how trump didn’t even compare.monospaced
