The American media is going to make this Afghanistan thing into Trump voters vs liberal dems / the Biden admin, even though Trump would have withdrawn troops faster and created the same situation. And it's really on neither of them from the get-go at least.
The thing is, this was inevitable. Obama should have pulled the plug on this thing in his first term. It was always gonna be a failure and someone was always going to get stuck with the bag on it.
Biden is fucking this up masterfully though, for what it's worth.
- this will be the new benghazi, in that there will be enough misunderstood foreign policy to just wage pundit wars that only drive people more insanecolin_s
- Let's just forget the fact the orange cunt said earlier this year the withdrawal should have been done quicker.BusterBoy
- Biden has already shown how wretched he is by utterly ignoring Jamal Khashoggi's murder after shitting out nonsense about hUmaN RIghtS during the election.face_melter
- I thought trump signed for this pull-out 14 months agoscarabin
- He did. But his supporters struggle to read and make sense of basic concepts, so his claims overwrite any shred of info they might have. Imonospaced
- Biden is not fucking anything, he's doing what should been done long ago. Obama little fuck.********
- yes trump signed up for this, which he should have - that's the thing, we should be out of there. but biden's handling of it has been hellaciouscolin_s
- there is no point of blame because the entire thing was wrong to begin with - at least after the first couple months. the blame will be used to dividecolin_s
- No 'normal' person was for it. It's all just the same ol' war machine, funnelling trillions into weapons, etc., etc. It's pathetically sad and 100% Washinton.formed

It’s an absolute shitshow, but if afghanis can’t be bothered to fight and die for their country then why should the west?
The Afghan army had far superior numbers, weaponry and a fucking Air Force and they just let the taliban walk right in without a fight.
Corruption is rampant, soldiers weren’t paid or fed and given no bullets apparently. I guess the taliban were the better option for them.
- Wait until you see the upcoming scandals related to the Afghan war from all the western powers involved lolgrafician
- Also calling it a "blitzkrieg" would be an understatement, as these guys took the entire country in a few days, zero resistance, fastest occupation in historygrafician

- @mono trump got it started w/the taliban talks. i'm not saying it's one pres or another - i'm saying shirking responsibility for the fallout is cowardicecolin_s
- It’s not as simple as one man taking responsibility. Call it what you want but it’s equally ignorant to blame him for it all.monospaced

This whole fucking war started with an incompetent president, a failure of intelligence, calamitous mistakes due to a complete lack of planning, all while blaming the wrong fucking country for the reasons behind it all, so I guess it's about fitting it ends that way too.
God these fucking politicians always find a way to outdo themselves in being cunts.

Was just a matter of which President was going to remove the band-aid. This was always going to happen whether it was Biden, Trump or Joe Bloggs as President.
This was either going to be a slow burn or complete rampant shit show...the Taliban was always going to come back. Unfortunately for Biden, he's the one left to carry the can.
But the rank hypocrisy of those on the right is laughable. Trump said earlier in the year the withdrawal should be happening faster.
So spare us the "wouldn't have happened under our watch" bullshit.
And the simple fact remains, if the Afghanis aren't prepared to fight for their own country after 20 years of Taliban suppression, then there's not much hope.

"The fact that [Donald] Trump negotiated directly with the Taliban and cut the Afghan government out at [talks in] Doha, was a major morale hit to the Afghan government,” he said. “And then suddenly Biden announcing that the US would be leaving come what may by September 11, I think, knocked the stuffing out of the Afghan armed forces. Because if you think your government is likely to collapse in the next few weeks, you’re not going to go out and die for it.”
- Peter Ricketts, former UK National Security Advisor
- Bidden made the right call. I like his year so far.
p.s. maybe focus on helping Haiti next, that country has the worst luck in history...grafician - ^^^ 100%mandomafioso

"We are no longer a serious people"
"What we should have been asking ourselves through four presidents’ worth of Afghanistan involvement, and 2,400 American lives (and God knows how many maimed and traumatized), and almost a trillion dollars, is this: what is our role there? What was the plan, if there ever was one? More specifically, how much are we willing to pay, in American lives and tax money, to impose (for imposing is what we’ll have to do) something vaguely resembling a liberal order in a country more than a few milestones behind us in the real-world Civilization game we’re all playing.
These are the questions a serious people, armed with all the wealth and power of global empire, ask themselves as they administer their dominion. But those are the questions we are not asking, for we are no longer a serious people."

Living under the fear of #Taliban, the Sikhs/Hindus of #Kabul, have taken shelter n Gurudwara Karte Parvan have made an emotional appeal to the #Sikh bodies to evacuate them from Afghanistan before it is too late. These Sikh/Hindu families have preferred migrating to US & Canada
#BREAKING : Local Taliban leaders in Kabul had meeting with Afghan sikhs and hindus in the Gurdwara situated in #Kabul.
Sources in Kabul told me that the Talibans assured them Safety and security and told them not to leave Afghanistan.
