NPR Interviews undecided votes. What strikes me as terrifying is that some of these people refused to give their name. Some refused to give their first name.
That’s how absolutely insane politics has become in America. These folks aren’t whistleblowers, they’re not saying anything controversial. They’re not even giving their political affiliation. It’s the opposite. They are the most neutral people you could meet in America.
They are literally afraid to say, “I’m not sure” in public.
Lots of things to blame for this. Decades of cancel culture, public shaming, Web 2.0, Donald Trump, Fox News, Twitter, Elon, Meta. The list goes on and on.
It’s a real sign that politics has broken down in America. The country needs to heal. But how.
