I like the 3rd one in the initial post. I think the first two are too linear (as in; of course a circus would have abused elephants and children holding balloons).

Keep working on the word mark. The 's' really isn't working at all. There is too much negative space surrounding it.
Also, if the word mark is strong you could have the elephant in all sorts of different poses and keep the whole identity fresh and playful. I could see this done really well.
Not sure of your thoughts on colour, but this is really strong in black and white. The moving elephant could give a really thoughtful and mature sense of play with the elegance of the bw.
Just my 3 cents worth. (inflations a bitch ya know!)

To be honest, I still prefer the original, weird s.. I kinda like how it gives the type some personality when the elephant isn't there...
Also, wouldn't want to make it much more "playful" (Elephant squashing letters etc.). Good point making the elephant smaller though. Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.

for thought, the elephant has certain associations. never forgetting, the elephant in the room, ... the concept to use an animal that plays/disrupts/engages with the wordmark has a lot of legs for a creative studio, but perhaps the elephant is not the right animal. Granted, it is most identifiable with circus, but I think there is a trade off.

is it done yet?

Hi again, I was playing with Photoshop saturday but was taking too much time so I asked my nephew to help you.
He tweaked the logo a little to improve the size and color, you know, so it doesn't look too boring. (Oh! he added purple... my favorite color... I think people will really like it purple) and he increased the size, you know... we discussed this right?
He also added some really cool 3d effects top it to make it POP! he said this is the hottest thing now and showed me some of the logos he and his friends have created for some really helpful websites that sell them dirt cheap.... don't worry, we're not switching you for them....yet. He said he could talk to you over the phone to go over the effects and to make sure you get them right if you wish to use them.
I am attaching a sample of his logo, it's not a final yet, but we would like for you to use it as a guide and finish it up. Should we expect to have it done for our pow-wow in an hour? Thanks!
Wow, this design thing is kind of cool, who knows, I might start doing it on my spare time..

Without knowing any background, I choose #1. It's purty.

Can you add some colors to it? I don't know...it looks a little boring black and white.... I like purple....
Oh, and can you make it a little bigger? That will definitely make it pop!
I have a picture of an elephant that might work perfect for the logo, I took it last weekend at the zoo... I'll try to bring it or adobe photoshop it for you to use. I'm not an expert, but I think it would look great. Just a suggestion tho...
- You know what, nevermind. My nephew has photoshop. Ill give him the picture and he can make the logo.baseline_shift

Maybe you could turn your elephant facing left and have it carrying the dot on the "i" (just a thought).

This might be a stretch, but....
After looking at the elephant again and again, I realized that the positioning of the elephant was kind of nice, in relation to where the dot on the i should be. Perhaps you could use that to your advantage. Right now, the i really sticks out for me. It's very stodgy and upright, whereas the other characters are very organic and playful.
