Did you know...
- Spiders that are the size of a tarantuala don't make a web, simply because they are too heavy. They haunt their prey or simply wait till the prey comes to them.
- Because of the size/weight, a Tarantula is actually pretty delicate. If it is dropped from over a meter heigh it's exoskeleton will collapse because of it's weight and it will die.
- It takes a Tarantula about a week to re-make it's poison, so it will only bite when it realy needs to.
- Tarantula venom isn't deadly for humans.- http://www.faulsey.c…pango
- haunt? hhaha probably not wrong though.ephix

My cousin from Australia told me a story about confronting a tarantuala (or another type of huge spider) for his housemate once. It was in his bedroom and he went at it with a rolled up magazine - took a few shots to incapacitate it - but it was the final one which split it open releasing the mother-to-be's writhing hoard of babies that scattered everywhere. Hundreds of them.

Tarantulas lay their eggs (up to 600 I believe) in an eggsack, there are some spiders that carry them on their back, but none (as far as I know) carry them inside their abdomen (which would mean gaving live-birth, which spiders don't do)

Live spider flushed from boy's ear
A NINE-year-old American boy who was suspicious of a "Rice Krispie" sound in his ear, was found to have a couple of spiders living in there.
What began as a faint popping turned into ear ache for Jesse Courtney from Albany in the state of Oregon.Jesse's mother, Diane Courtney, said her son insisted he kept hearing a faint popping in his ear - "like Rice Krispies''.
"They were walking on my eardrums,'' Jesse said, according to the Associated Press.
Dr David Irvine said it looked like the boy had something in his ear when he examined him.
When he irrigated the ear, the first spider came out, dead. The other spider took a second dousing before it emerged, still alive. Both were about the size of a pencil eraser.
Jesse has kept the spiders as a souvenir.
