Parrots have fascinated us throughout the years due to their high intelligence, gorgeous colors and adoring personalities that simply won’t be ignored. Generations of parrot lovers insist that there is no better pet than a parrot.

8 Chickens 1 Rooster
Rooster is cooler than any pet bird I've seen or friends have had.

Don't get a bird unless you have experience with them. They take more work than you might think. They are also very social so if you must get a bird, unless you commit to spending a lot of time with it, get two so it can have companionship. I grew up with birds (cockatiels and parakeets) and ave rescued a few cockatiels who had lived in crappy situations where people thought it would be novel (and easy) to get a bird for their kids. The bird sat alone in a cage all day and then had objects thrown at its cage when it made noise (and yeah, they do make noise - they are birds!).
Birds are awesome but IMHO they shouldn't be pets.

- I actually had one as a kid. Chip was his name. Amazing birdie, flew out of our apt a few times but always came back.Ruffian
