This film is one of my favourites and I’ve just given it a rewatch because of yesterday’s sad news. It’s amazing how it sheds so much light on why Russia and the US coalition found it so hard to make meaningful progress in the recent Afghan conflict.
Both Caine and Connery are great. If you’ve never seen it give it a go.

This is on Netflix. Really well realized low budget sci-fi. Slower, methodical. Mood, detail.
For people who like smart science fiction with a world that has fascinating details and is consistent within itself and doesn't need to explain things....it just shows you things.....this is for you
