- lolYakuZoku
- Best movie ever might be a stretchnb
- There’s a great interview with the director where he laments how everyone mocked it for years. I do think people were overly critical, it’s not the worst movienb
- No, but it's a lot closer to the worst than the best.CyBrainX

- Phoenix's best role by far. Aaand then he did that Joker movie.garbage
- and after that, Napoleon but I'm not going to blame him as much as Ridley Scott for that mess.CyBrainX
- Scott's so weird to me. Undeniably legendary films.. and then also fucking duds. But my twist is: I actually liked Prometheus.garbage

- looks goodutopian
- I liked it but some scenes, dialogues and bit of the scenario doesn't make sense or is not enough close to what would happen in real life and it bugged me a bitHAL9001
- An example, SPOILER DON'T READ, but why would all those deers come and stop in front of the girl and stare at her? wtfHAL9001
- Something about their migration routes being fucked up from an electro magnetic attack which knocked out all communication but also their natural gps?_niko
- But I loved it overall, loved the small details like the sound design being lifted from the twilight zone, the edits and transitions were brilliant, the shots_niko
- Were gorgeous, the pacing and the acting was great. I also loved how there was no preachy message except nihilism which was a major theme_niko
- And the line no one is in controlled summed it up beautifully. It was my argument against the covidiots who were sure this was a giant conspiracy headed by a_niko
- Global nefarious cabal when in fact it was a random event brought on by chance that caught us with our pants down._niko
- just finished it... it was very paced and intelligent and unlike those online apparently perplexed by the ending, it was good, you should know what’s nextprophetone
- plenty of symbolism throughout, the jenga, that bedroom wallpaper, friends critiqueprophetone
- Meh.. I was witing for the aliens, glad when it was finished so i didt have to waste more timetony77
- When they start flirting and dancing, i thought it was weird... with all the weird stuff that happend, probably everyone would be anxious, nervous and panicky..HAL9001
- I liked the ending, i called it out at middle of the movie, it was abvious for me it would end with that lolHAL9001
- Taught I noticed this during the movie, but the art in the house changed as the plot progressed.

- annoyed more than entertained me, I see it was made by Obama's production company too, the bit with the Teslas was best bit thoughGardener

- ugh wot about dem tooths. huh? huh?robthelad
- that was teased in the opening animated credit sequenceGardener
- I don't speak Spanish, but I wanted the woman that he left on the side of the road to have been trying to tell him about the bunker just for the ironyjbasnight
- I read somewhere that she tells him that she’s scared and she saw a small plane spraying red gas.Ramanisky2
- Spoiler! The girl watching Friends is the proof of Julia Roberts’ monologue on humanity in the shed. Bleak!nb
- Loved it. Esmail totally has a way he shoots and frames. Shot so similar to Mr robot in parts..thumb_screws
- So glad to see you guys all dug this one. I was transfixed watching this. Probably about exactly how it will go.bogue
- I thought the film was so intriguing all the way through but felt wholly let down by the ending. And yes the flirting/dancing scene was bizarre as fuck.HAYZ1LLLA

Had to give this one a re-watch (only saw it in theatre when it premiered back in 2016)
Just remembered feeling underwhelmed with overall story and lack of character development/backstory
Especially when the trailer is so good .. dirty cops, cartels, MERCs storyline had me pumped. Not to mention it’s shot in Atlanta where I live. And Holyshit, what a cast .....
So on rewatch my thoughts on plot and lack of character dev & backstory stands.
The movie is still entertaining enough and John Hillcoat (The Road) does an outstanding job at creating a dark & dreadful atmosphere. Action scenes are also top notch.
Still recommend for those who love this genre.

Great line. Looking forward to this one.Nairn - I'm happy the release is in spring 2024, which means the western world will survive till then. there is hope.uan
- How are you suggesting this if nobody anywhere has seen it?monospaced
- I suppose HAL90210, the Hollywood AI just knows.uan
- @mono, pretty sure its going to be good. Coming from A24... and Alex garland.HAL9001
- Director is hit or miss, just like A24. I do hope it’s as good as it seems it will be.monospaced
- It's a great looking poster and makes the point well but Liberty Island is not a very likely battle ground. Anywhere in NY isn't even likely.CyBrainX

oh my... weird pick to watch during the Holidays lol
I didnt know about this movie dated from 1984. It shows realistically what would happen if a nuclear war happen. The movie is really well done, the grainy films and unknown actors, the pictures, make it looks super realistic and believable.
Its super grim and dark. You definitely want to die quick in the blast... what comes after for the survivors is unbearable.
- Info: https://en.wikipedia…)HAL9001
- They even tought about how kids would talk 13 years after the blasts, without proper education and school, they talk in broken englishHAL9001
- I think it's the darkest movie i've ever seen.HAL9001
- Saw it on TV when it came out, haunted me for weeks. It makes The Day After look like a Disney movie.fadein11
- must have been traumatizing watching this particularly in the 80sHAL9001
- yupfadein11
- Lovely film. Great for the kids. All round family fun. 9/10Ianbolton
