Threads (1984) is available on Youtube for those who wanted to see it :
- inteliboy5
- I thought it was good as well. I wish the Americans would quit tarnishing Big G's good name.lemmy_k
- I am considering heading to the cinema for this, which is rare for me.BuddhaHat
- ^If you liked Shin Godzilla, you'll like this one as well.lemmy_k
- bloody excellent moviehans_glib
- So much fun. First time that G has felt menacing since the first movie. Also, seems like the audio is next level in this movie.MrAbominable

i had no expectations of this, but it was really good
- Love Ismail direction. Beautifully done.Ramanisky2
- This was a great film.Ianbolton
- A great surprise of a movie, went in blind.elahon
- Agree you expect it to be something and it’s not, a pleasant surprise at every scene, loved it._niko
- Yeah, pretty good. Outstays its welcome with at least 30 minutes, though.jagara
- I really didn't like the god/deer 'showing the way' element. Felt very cheesy, but then again I also found most of them intolerable as characters.Nutter
- None of the characters were likeable. But I suspect that was the point.jagara
- I found them all realistic, whether likeable or not. Something always made me question their authenticity, but you could understand why they were how they were.Ianbolton
- Very moody and ominous, lots of build up, but a disappointing payoff.i_monk

- the dish array scene is soooooo goodprophetone
- this movie is very good.jagara
- Geeky, but good. Written by Carl Sagan.jagara
- One of my first DVD's along with The Fifth Element. Needless to say I hadn't been kissed yet!
Lolz.ideaist - Never Been Kissed also a great filmnb
- Script was even better than the film, https://assets.scrip…Goldpackage

I took a chance on this, expecting to be disappointed (like I am 99% of the time when it comes to horror), but it’s actually well worth a watch. The trailer doesn’t do it justice.

And since we’re talking about Threads again (battles the top spot of all time for me), I’ll give an honorable mention to another nuclear war movie, When The Wind Blows.

- The first film that comes to mind whenever asked about my all time fav, much to the disappointment of people who expect highbrow stuff from a cinephile like mespl33nidoru
- Yeah, I hear ya. Nothing to be ashamed of, this movie is masterpiece. From a technical level, it’s on par with Kubrick, Spielberg, et alnb
- Genius idea and the script is perfectnb
- YupYakuZoku
- I can watch this over and over again, I’ve probably seen it a hundred times one of my top 5 probably_niko
- @nb Well, it's not a well-kept secret that Spielberg is essentially the ghost-director/produ... of Back to the Future. The Bobs hit a wall at Universal..garbage
- ..Spielberg came in with clout and convinced the studio to green light it, and then he directed the movie via Zemeckis.garbage
- Also had a hand in getting the lead role changed to MJF, which was a nightmare to manage because he was filming for Family Ties.garbage
- Dude was sleeping in the car in between filming at two different sets. Fucking legend.garbage
- I saw this countless times when I worked as a cinema usher in the 80's, never tired of it and still love itGardener
- it also played at the cinema for over 6 months!Gardener
- All time classicdee-dubs
- Wow didn’t know about the Spielberg involvement but it makes total sense, stylistically much closer to him than zemeckis_niko
- Nutter3
Still holds up pretty well
- I’d buy that for a dollarRamanisky2
