A DP friend turned me on to this the other day. The Beasts. A really REALLY well paced thriller, had me super on edge the whole time, loads of depth and backstory that continues to reveal, and some amazingly timeless choices.
10/10 would totally recommend.
- That looks really, really good. Tell me, though, do a lot of animals die? haha =(elahon

Sure someone's posted already, but this really got me emotional recently. Olivia Colman was fantastic and Roger Deakin's cinematography really brought it life. Great soundtrack too.

- Yes! It's so good. I might get some clapback, but I think this is Hoffman's best work by a long shot.garbage
- Also the remake is the cinematic equivalent of shitting yourself at a crowded funeral for somebody you've never even met.garbage

- One of the rare cases where the American version is better source material.garbage
- Kubrick masterpieceHAL9001
- Oh an to clarify, I meant the American version as in the book. The US release omitted Chapter 21, in which Alex basically goes "OH WELL, WON'T DO CRIME ANYMORE"garbage
- Kubrick made the right call. Can you imagine how much that would ruin the film if that was the ending?garbage
