This was rad
the right yappin' about this being woke? I didn't see any of that shit
- from a world building perspective, this and Fury Road are an amazing pair of films.Ianbolton
- I feel like the world building in Mad Max isn't really important so long as there's full-on fun, and that's what this was. Loved it.garbage
- Supposedly Furiosa is based off a script from ages ago, but Mel had to.. you know.. get really antisemitic and threaten his daughter.garbage
- I kind of felt the first hour could've been told in 5 minutes. Enjoyed it mostly but felt it just all went on a bit too long.webazoot
- I felt the first hour was essential. I won't say why because it would be spoilers.garbage
- excellent film, great prequelGardener
- Ramanisky22
- Did enjoy that when I saw it. Was curious as to what constitues a 'shudder original' as I don't remember any mention of it when I saw it.webazoot
- Looking up the funding... "The film was funded with a mixture of cryptocurrency and revenue from the producer's cam girl business." Interesting.webazoot
- But was good and have been a few good films with the shudder logo in front of them recently.webazoot
- It’s also funny when you start the movie (that you’re watching on a HORROR streaming app) and it gives you a warning on the brutality of the violence.Ramanisky2

Finally watched CIVIL WAR ...
Too much photography, not enough civil war... i dont know, I was expecting something else.
Not bad, but I think I wanted more details about the civil war itself. The movie looks like an episode of what could be a entire series of 10 episodes.

Beverly Hills Cop Acquell F
Always good to see Detroit in a flic. The interlude music was nice, kinda like a remix of the original, but didn't have the same effect. It is what it is, straight forward mainstream Murphy. But damn, that Gordon-Levitt is so cringe to watch.
- Loved Levitt in Don Jon thoughYakuZoku
- 6-7/10 good fungrafician
- I can't stand Levitt. He's so annoying. But liked this new film. Seemed to have enough nod to the originals. Felt like the 80s!Ianbolton
- I was willing to give the talking with people outside the car in the titles a pass but the car chase was so poorly set up and edited I couldn't watch any more.webazoot
- Like out of nowhere here are six police cars just parked in the street for you to crash into, even though the chase only just began, & now look, heres ten more.webazoot

Need to re-watch before Gladiator 2
- Ramanisky20
- lol, just watched the Half in The Bag episode. and just followed it through because the camera work was so shite.garbage
- That fingernail scene was good.garbage
- Agree.. that shaky camera work early on was a bit much and that unfolding hand with wolverine nail was so good.Ramanisky2
- I'd give it a 6/10 for a horror flick, just because I'm too familiar with some of the budget filming tricks they were doing.garbage
- I'm guessing it was a skeleton crew of DPs, because sometimes it's hard to even tell what the fuck is happening, and then there's a shot like the fingernail.garbage
- Valid. And thank you for bringing Half in the Bag to my attention didn’t even know this existed. Those 2 are hilarious.Ramanisky2
- I would recommend all of RLM. The funniest member isn't even in that one, but Rich Evans is a comic genius. Worst laugh ever.garbage
- But also: https://youtu.be/x5E…garbage
- Oh I will check them out .. thanksRamanisky2

- 2 out of 10. Typical mindless action movie. Insulting to anyone who has served in the military.GM278
- Even a 12 year old who's played COD knows this is not how an op is run. Makes the USAF and UAV pilots look like feckless morons.GM278
- Operators are portrayed as one dimensional meatheads. All that said, I can see how ppl who've never served love shit like this and I can't be objective.GM278
- The role of UAV is to alert danger BEFORE an operator encounters it. The whole movie: "Hey is there something near me?" UAV: "Let me check" FMLGM278
- Start of movie: TACP has never HELO jumped... no training... no biggie. Never in a million years would that be accurateGM278
- Delta goes off-script in what could only be described as cool in Hollywood but an international clusterfuck in the real world by disregarding ROEGM278
- Entire UAV unit just sitting around watching basketball while a critical op is underway and the ONLY line of communication is a phone with the receiver off???GM278
- Crow plays an old, vision impaired and medically unfit UAV pilot who'd have been discharged long before his insubordinate fat ass could go near the chair.GM278
- Alternatively, go watch extraction if you need a decent and fun Hemsworth fix.GM278
- ^ ahhhh ... ok
It’s just a mindless action movie ffs.Ramanisky2

Seriously good black mirror vibes
Great time travel piece

First time ever seeing this recently. Not great but very good. Stallone and Liotta were the standout performers for me. The amount of household name actors in it is mesmerising.
- I thought this was great as well, probably Stalone's best work...but it ruined his career apparently, I guess his action fans base didn't get it._niko
- and I completely forgot that Lotta, Keitel and dinero were in it lol_niko
- oh shit, plus Paulie walnuts, Edie Falco, Debbie Harry and Method man!_niko
- Phil Leotardo, Artie Bucco...mort_
- Copland had 12 actors in common with Sopranos. Goodfellas had 27!!mort_
- I really like this film. Stalonnes best after Rocky.HAYZ1LLLA
- Defo one of Sly's best. Really liked it.PhanLo
- @Hayz Only if your list assumes First Blood is his best.garbage
- agree, First blood is at the top_niko
- Okay okay. It's his 3rd best film!HAYZ1LLLA

Can anyone explain why Taxi Driver is so revered? Just saw it and was underwhelmed. Acting is good, but not special. I mean, all around it’s good but I fail to see why it’s heralded as one of the great American films of its time period
- yeah I’m with you on this one.
I think The King of Comedy is a much better Scorsese/DeNiro flickRamanisky2 - It was a post Vietnam war era film that was released 1 year after the war endedYakuZoku
- it captured a time and place, gritty NYC in the 70's. Loners, criminals...Someday A Rain Will Come And Wash All The Scum Off The Streets_niko
- there's a certain rawness to it, an uncomfortable feeling watching it. I think it's deniro's best role_niko
- Travis Bickle is a very tragic yet likeable character, a stranger in a strange land naivety to him that you can't help but root for. He's noble but flawed_niko
- Everything niko said, and at the time it was a pretty brave assault on the idea of American exceptionalism. It came out the same year as Rocky ffs.garbage
- Unfortunately the perception of film has changed over the years. Our current generation of unfuckable white youth are too stupid to understand the obvious..garbage
- ..Travis ain't the hero.garbage
- gladiator is better....neverscared
- Obvious troll thread.cherub
- Fun fact: I tried to watch "The Dark Knight" 3 different times and never made it to the end. Fell asleep twice and 3rd time bored to tears...cherub
- the cinematography and pacing was a bit out there for an american film of the time, the subject matter risqué, the anti-hero etc.kingsteven
- very referential of cinematic and media tropes which geeks love (even the musical theme is lifted from basil kirchin's primitive london score)kingsteven
- but in turn taxi driver has been aesthetically referenced and parodied as a signifier of edge lord culture its lost its potency as a story telling devicekingsteven
- I liked the King of Comedy, but it made me feel uncomfortable - which was the point I guess. I'll rewatch Taxi Driver as I can't remember much about it.Ianbolton
- i love king of comedy, binged on it in my teens and 20s but haven't watched it in 20 years or so :-| maybe it is timekingsteven
- Hm I see. So would it be fair to say it was introducing America to a type of man that was now a part of our cultural landscape? The lonely, young vet?nb
- Two great movies. Also love Mean Streets & Raging Bull from same era of Scorsese/ DeNiromort_
- not really nb, it emalgamates themes that would have been popular in 'b-movies' and european and asian cinema. daring for a mainstream film at the time...kingsteven
- I’ve seen maybe half of Scorsese’s movies, this was the first one that didn’t impress me.nb
- Oh wait I take that back. the Irishman is terrible. Figured that one to be an outlier and an embarrassing mistake.nb
- Never seen itrobthelad
- The best thing to come from The Irishman was when Nick Lutsko went nuts pretending to be rejected for his Irishman Theme Song.garbage
- Somehow Chrissy Teigen got rolled up in it, so he trolled the hell out of her too, posting videos of him pretending to be a sick, sweaty fan. Top tier stuff.garbage
- https://youtu.be/nMv…garbage
- I'm not a fan either. It's the same role De Niro did over and over and over again. I can't stand the fucker, personally. I guess it was novel at the time?Nairn
- I wouldn't fully discredit him as one note, he did have a range: Deer Hunter, Brazil, Casino, Jackie Brown. But The Irishman is terrible.garbage
- plus vito Corleone. Yeah, I think young deniro is vastly superior to old deniro. For me, I think heat was when he jumped the shark._niko
- Some people just don't get itcanoe
- My son. In this house we do not speak ill of HEATnb
- Oh I somehow I misread that as "jumped the shark after Heat". Seconding we do not speak ill of Heat in this house.garbage
- Heat is the best graphic design film ever.MrT
- yeah I’m with you on this one.
