May coldest month in UK in 17 years.
- Yeah, it's all due to global warming they say...seeessess

looking at the graphs of ice core data on the span of 400,000 years it sure seems like you cant stop climate change. Have to say i think the people who say that doing this or that will stop climate change are about as smart as the people who think climate change doesn't exist. in fact i guess they pretty much believe in the same thing, no climate change. And what would be the end game of crippling societies to try to prevent climate change to save a few thousand years? Is that really good for people or for profit? The only benefit might be to stump population growth since there isn't enough likely resources available to sustain us for a thousand years anyways with our current growth. But that could also be false because poverty doesn't always curb population.... I can only see short term profit as the primary goal especially with cap and trade and such type programs. Nothing wrong with being clean and efficient but at what cost and to whom. And how does it balance out. And don't forget you cant stop climate change, even if it was magically possible who knows what detrimental effects could possibly be had.
And once again i propose for those that believe humans have greatly altered the climate and continue to do so more then any other factor. Then humans and their growth are the problem. Not CO2. The industrial revolution was a necessity to get us to where we are. To get us our flatscreen tvs ipads and facebook. to create jobs and growth. make that jet car and most things obama used to get to copehagen to apologize about. And even if CO2 is curbed with the continued growth it seems like it would cancel any change out.
havent really seen too much promising solutions. i have none myself. just be nice if people look at it more objectively, and not at the amount of 0's in the grants or subsidies or the number of votes. lets just have the weatherman get better at forecasting before someone tries to stop climate change worldly.

untill they go back to calling it global warming,
I won't listen to the bs again,
yaddah yadda globlal warming, yadah you hate this planet you skeptic, yaddah yaddah we're all died burned by the sun, yaddah yaddah the artic will melt and the sea we'll rise 500000 feets,
zoom one year in the future >>>> ,
ok, we've officially decided to stop calling it global warming hmmmm because our scientifically enhance computer model and our thousand Phd's showed us that the climate .... hmmm changes,
so we will call it "climate change"
Genius!
rabble..rabble..rabble..rabble...- well it used to be called global cooling. climate change is better so they can still say it when its cold and warm and try to create a panic********

The report says scientists need to spend more time figuring out what's going to change. For example, how will higher temperatures affect agriculture? And where and when? Matson says that's a moving target largely guided by how much fossil energy people will be using.
"There are a lot of uncertainties about the future," Matson said, "and the uncertainties are in large part because we don't know what people are going to do."
And what people do, Matson adds, may depend on how well scientists explain what they know. "We miscommunicate all the time," Matson says.
"For example, we use the term 'uncertainty' all the time in science; it represents a quantitative statement of how well we know something. But think of what uncertainty means for most people — it means we don't know."
The point of this report, she and its authors say, is to show that scientists do know that something must be done to keep the Earth's climate from heading into uncharted territory.

you mean a scientific issue like this?
Dear Phil and Gabi,
I’ve attached a cleaned-up and commented version of the matlab code that I wrote for doing the Mann and Jones (2003) composites. I did this knowing that Phil and I are likely to have to respond to more crap criticisms from the idiots in the near future, so best to clean up the code and provide to some of my close colleagues in case they want to test it, etc. Please feel free to use this code for your own internal purposes, but don’t pass it along where it may get into the hands of the wrong people. From Nick McKay (modifying data):
The Korttajarvi record was oriented in the reconstruction in the way that McIntyre said. I took a look at the original reference – the temperature proxy we looked at is x-ray density, which the author interprets to be inversely related to temperature. We had higher values as warmer in the reconstruction, so it looks to me like we got it wrong, unless we decided to reinterpret the record which I don’t remember. Darrell, does this sound right to you? From Tom Wigley (acknowleding the urban effect):
We probably need to say more about this. Land warming since 1980 has been twice the ocean warming — and skeptics might claim that this proves that urban warming is real and important. From Phil Jones (modification of data to hide unwanted results):
I’ve just completed Mike’s Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) amd from 1961 for Keith’s to hide the decline. From Kevin Trenberth (failure of computer models):
The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can’t. The CERES data published in the August BAMS 09 supplement on 2008 shows there should be even more warming: but the data are surely wrong. Our observing system is inadequate. From Michael Mann (truth doesn't matter):
Perhaps we'll do a simple update to the Yamal post, e.g. linking Keith/s new page--Gavin t? As to the issues of robustness, particularly w.r.t. inclusion of the Yamal series, we actually emphasized that (including the Osborn and Briffa '06 sensitivity test) in our original post! As we all know, this isn't about truth at all, its about plausibly deniable accusations.
From Phil Jones (witholding of data):
The skeptics seem to be building up a head of steam here! ... The IPCC comes in for a lot of stick. Leave it to you to delete as appropriate! Cheers Phil
PS I’m getting hassled by a couple of people to release the CRU station temperature data. Don’t any of you three tell anybody that the UK has a Freedom of Information Act !Should I go on?

Did early hunters cause climate change?"When hunters arrived in North America and drove mammoths and other large mammals to extinction, the methane balance of the atmosphere could have changed as a result, triggering the global cool spell that followed. The large grazing animals would have produced copious amounts of methane, a potent greenhouse gas, from their digestive systems. They vanished about 13,000 years ago"
